I flooded the volcano with the flood cob for it, which I thought was sapose to make it ok, but all my fish keep dying in there. any ideas why? thanks Kathy

No, the COB is made to specifically neutralize the radiation.

Nope temp and radiation is not a factor in the fishes dying. The only thing that I see that might kill the fish in the volcano is leaving the air hatch to the swamp and garden area open. The fish will swim out of the flooded area and die from lack of water. I tested this COB before with my Zummy and gold fish. In all my runs, they thrive if left alone. They only way the population decreases is when norns eat them to extinction :-)

It might be the temperature thats the problem...

No, the volcano is only in C2.

Hi Jay! (and all)
Great COBs! Spent two days and nights this weekend with a flooded volcano and two beautiful mernorns making guppies, er, babies.
Now here's the weird thing. I had set up the whole world to be a pleasure dome for the mers - the flooded volcano and lots of Zummy fish and goldfish dispensors everywhere. Well....those durn mers don't eat as many fish as I expected and they sure like to "hit dispensor". I have several million (zillion?) fish in the Eastern Ocean now (that's where the mers are living) and the game is running like it's brain dead. (I moved the dispensors to another spot.) No remover for the goldies and the zummies? Geez, sure am getting Ecology 101 all over again here.
Is the amphibious Grendel still a danger to the mers? I've been afraid to put them in the Volcano.
The Western Ocean is cool - BORLAND came by three times while I was watching to gobble fishies and hole up in his burrow.
Think I can move the mers (they are 2.5 hours old or so) to the Western Ocean and then open the air lock in the Eastern Ocean or something to kill off the fish? I tried throwing them hahaha one at a time hahaha on to the pier hahaha.
(I have 45 minute old versions of the same mers in a back up directory - Should I just start a new world?)
(I used to run a public aquarium and I tried to keep the fish ALIVE there - but this is ridiculous. <G>)
Another obliquely related question - those pesky boing toys in the Western ocean - nearly killed two mers with them getting sprung to land. I put the electric (ugly) gates on them but didn't turn them on - the Norns seem to hate getting hit by them (do they get hurt? angry?) so will they block the spring toys just by being there? I HATE losing critters via suffocation.
And the dang porcupine fish - every time an alarm goes off the fish throws my already freaking out mernorn up on the piers. Geez. Is it the alarm that does that? Do you know what the porcupine fish is monitoring? All of a sudden the mer will be floating up and there's the fish throwng it out of the water.
Say I flood the whole world - where do you raise the babies?
I hope that I've at least amused you with this and hope you and/or the rest of you C2 geniuses can help me out here.
I forget where, but you can get a cob to get rid of the springs (there to help the reg norms not to drown I think) As for the fish problem, I know this would be a pain, but couldn't you export your mers, make sure you save a back up of all your cobs, then uninstall and reinstall your C2, get it all set up again the way you want, with out as many fish, and then import your mer's, at the same age they were when you exported them? I have only had C2 for a week and never had C1, so I don't know much, this is just a thought. Kathy

All my COBs have removers. Just go to the injector kit and click the remove button for Zummy Fish Launcher, it removes both the fish and the launcher. The Zummy Fish COB has a query routine that checks the population of the Zummies in each ocean. If there are more than 6-8 fish in the oceans then all new eggs will not hatch. In the Large Ocean, however, their is actually two parts of the ocean and therefore the program checks each part separately. The over population occurs when fish hatch in the lower section and swim up to the high section, thus freeing the population for more zummy fish to hatch.
As for the Goldfish and Porcupine fishes, I did not make them. You'll have to check with the makers on them.
