Hi. Short question - I'm a skinner for WindowBlinds and DesktopX (programs which
change the visual apperance of Windows - window frames, desktop, etc - see
www.stardock.com for the products and skinz.org for some theme examples).

Now, I'm interested in trying to do a linked WindowBlinds and DesktopX Creatures
theme (because I like Creatures ;-). Firstly, though, I'd like to know:

1. If this is something that's going to cause Cyberlife to throw up it's
hands in horror and demand to be taken offline, and if not,
2. Would it be acceptable to use some sprites and sounds from Creatures
incorporated into the skin (particularly Creatures 1, which I hear is being
offloaded to Freeloader.com, so is probably not going to be making much more
money for Cyberlife in any case)?

Personally, I would see this as fan activity, but then I'm the one who wants to
do it - <g> - and I'm sure the good folks of this newsgroups have more
experience in these matters than me, so I thought I'd ask first. Where are the
limits set for this sort of thing?

TIA,

These are questions you should consider asking Cyberlife. None of us can
say for certain wether or not CL would approve. They would know. It'd
probably be okay, but better safe than sorry.

make some litestep themes and I'll be intrested :P
windowblinds hates me...
desktop x sounds like a good idea though. I might start using that one day.
maybe. I think. perhaps.

ooh! I just thought. the menu bars in c3, crammed into a litetep module
would *rule* yum! not sure how desktop x works though, so I dunno if it
could be implimented...

neh no problem there. cl don't have too much of a problem with this kind of
thing, really. s'always best to give them credit, though. mainly because
they diserve it.

not really...
you'd be suprised...
half of the people here are laem l0z3r laem drifters who wouldn't know what
windowblinds/desktop x is if you smacked 'em upside the head with it...
see...we all live on our own private forums/chats/whatever instead of having
to put up with some of the scum here on wunnerful troll-infested
alt.games.moro...alt.games.creatures!
