Just one. This is kinda annoying.
Thanks Henry of Lockwood would never have figured that out! One at a time
is annoying, 2 I could live with.

Or just use the far to powerful Stone of Recall and port back to a temple
and heal. The AI is so stupid that the monsters do not respawn or heal
themselves. I got bored halfway through Chapter II, muddled on in hope and
then just quit at the beginning of Chapter 3. I've tried a few of the SP
mods and there are some good ones out there. My advice is dump the OC and
ask around alt.games.neverwinter-nights and play those mods.
Also note that if you use a henchman and summoned creatures the XP gained is
less than if you fight just by yourself. The engine is supposed to ramp up
the difficulty based on the size of your party, and I use party in its
loosest sense, but doesn't really. It penalizes you for using in game
features which you are encouraged to use, bloody stupid if you ask me.
Hmm, went off on a bit of a rant, sorry.

If you ask me, the far too powerful stone of recall was a lame device
introduced when the playtesters complained about how stupidly long it took
to travel from one place to another. I suppose the concepts of fast travel
and suspension of disbelief escaped the designers so they were forced to
come up with the stone after the fact. Or more likely they were just plain
stoned.

The whole game is rather stupid. I had to force myself to finish the
official campaign, just to see how the story ended, then shelved it for a
long time. Going back to NWN last week to try a new module was simply
painful and I quickly discarded it again. The game is a piece of crap that
is the a result of an engine that is in one sense brilliant and in another
sense downright awful. It looks brilliant until you've had to struggle with
it for a couple of hours, then it feels downright awful after that. And for
something that was planned as the great multiplayer game it's clear very
little thought went into playability. And what's even worse they assigned a
drug addict to write the pathfinding code.

Why they didn't think of using an overland map to make travel times
sensible is beyond me. It's just *wrong* not to have one.

First off have to apologise, it seems my news server went on a bit of a
bender and posted the same message three times.
I was very disappointed with the game, after waiting for so long for the
game it was a damp squib. Too damn long, too easy and no personality. I'm
suprised you perservered with it for so long. I think that the engine has
enough legs to last for a very long time if modders can get good modules
together. I knoew from all the pre-release stuff that there would be no
party control, but I thought Bioware may just change their minds. When they
released a survey that specifically asked if players wanted part control and
most seemed to answer yes, I figured that the expansions would implement it,
but the interview up at Gamespot squashes any hope of ever getting this.
They should at least put it into the damn toolset so that modders can create
modules with this.
And yes, the bloody running around aimlessly through empty dungeons is very,
very tedious. This game was certainly not worth the price they asked.
