You can still catch Doc over at WorldWarIIOnline's member forums. If
you know Killer, he's there too. Once in a while someone posts an AW
nostalgia post and I'm always surprised at the number of ex players
there.

I miss a lot of things about AW, such as actual multicrewing where you
can cram 10 people into a B-17 and go off on an adventure with all
sorts of highjinks sure to happen. And the vox capability without
having to use a 3d party application.... And the amazing recorder that
let you play back and save any mission, with the ability to see it
from any perspective you pleased as it played back.
And playing chicken with the ack at Naughton (I was Az)...
And flakpanzers... :>)
WW2OL is fun, looks better than AW, is a lot more accurate, but
doesn't have the above features (yet), so I'm still nostalgic. Lots
of former AW players there, a few even that I knew from the AW days in
the 90s. Drop in sometime. (It's been so long I don't remember a lot
of names until they announce themselves, such as yours. I remember a
Cappy, and think we might have been squadmates at one time. I was in a
few different ones while there. (Or maybe I just remember your name
from seeing who shot me down....)

I flew a lot with Fisho, usually in bombers flying under "dar" at top
speed.... I really didn't get into fighters until I left AW. Always
loved flying gooneys into hot airfields, trying to avoid interception.
What an adrenaline rush, getting close then popping up to drop troops
at the last minute...

Don't get me started on the war stories...

Hi Vapor

NOW you have gone and done it (snif)

If you remember a "Cappy" it was prolly me.

I had the handle from the early 90's in the DOS days on concentric,
through the night they shut down rein & stimpy, AOL, and EA...until
the final night, where "A KILL HAS BEEN RECORDED" by EA games.. :(

Started as a BZ with Merch and the gang, a bunch of us "defected" one
night by pre arrangement to AZ 'cause the numbers were so lopsided in
the arena.

I miss it a lot (and your message here has not helped!) :)

The b-17 deathstar was a hoot with a full crew! One night unknown
until later, before VOX, a crew from Calif. all got on a conference
call so they could talk to each other, and were nearly invincible.. !

My fav was the A-26 with the artillery in the nose..

Turt and I used to do the stealth bomb runs, and then take it
"downtown" and see what damage we could do... The 26 , kept fast was
a half decent fighter if flown right..

I remember ur handle, most likely with AZ I would have escorted you
with the BORG, or later in Jordi's squad...

I flew for two years in the 411 in Aces High. It was good, but the 4
hr adrenalin rushes never "happened" again...

The tanks and panzies were good fun. We actually ALL (AZ BZ CZ) went
to tanks onenight and had the most awsome tank bash ever!

Was a good time!

Cheers!

Yeah, I kno.. I have a nice FF stick, but it is all serial..

So I keep a spare HD that I can switch to that has Win 98 on it..

Works with the old serial gear just fine, and AH runs very well on
it...

YES! I called on the Co channel a coupla years ago, and got 3 replies
from old AW'ers!

Handles had changed, one dude said he was there in the DOS days on
rein & stimpy/ concentric network...

Humm...I have a couple 100gb notebook drives I'm not doing anything
with. I could probably put to gather a full system in the basement and
set up my old TM gear. It's just finding the time :(

How's AH doing? Numbers? Is it even close to what AW's intensity was
like? Gonna have to put forth a serious effort to check it out.

Good, good numbers, and some VERY GOOD pilots. Some squads are very
good with good leaders. Scenarios are well attended..

It may happen!

Yea... sure 'tis! :)

Would it be nice to form a squad (in AH) of old AW'ers?

I wonder what ever happened to guys like Jordi etc. that were such
good Co's
