ĄDear Gölök,
Ą
ĄI promised to get back to you about running as a candidate. It doesn't look likely right now in my view, but it's something still we're thinking over in terms of possibilities, but we're negative about it. For the same reasons as follows.
Ą
ĄI'm having a difficult time with this and I've been trying to be fair about this. I don't think some of your comments on your LPC page are appropriate for an LPC riding contact. So I'm inclined to remove your name from the list of riding contacts. ]
Ą
ĄYes, and I hold the LPC with no liability for it. What is said, however I will have to be public about this contact thing so anyone who joined as a result of trusting me can do there thinking. I do that at my risk not yours; I am not going to be screwed over investing time like with Refrom Party turn coats. On the chart there was room for two, a secondary couldn't be found? Seemed room for two if Geddes needs someone there. I know the huffing and puffing he must of went through having me mentioned in any way.
Ą[I don't want to interfere with your freedom of speech. I agree with you about some things. I'd rather you were getting into debates with people than not and being yourself. I strongly believe your membership is not an issue so don't worry about that. I hope you stay with us. Why not keep your website going and do things as you like as a member? Maybe you can help with meetings participation locally.
Ą
ĄWhat about contesting ridings? Why not two for the Rank-in-file of Vancouver-Centre that Paul Geddes' choice?
ĄSo I want to mention what's not an issue and what's a problem in my mind.
Ą
ĄNot the issue:
Ą1) Criticizing anarchists although I am inclined towards anarcho-capitalism (whatever it is) myself. Our party has plenty of room for anarchists and minarchists of different persuasions. Not the issue. Although it's strange you're criticizing Ron Paul.]
Ą
ĄStealing and selling what you steal? That's anarcho-capitalist, or the more moderate version of oligarchist, such as monopoly (or business as big government) and no trade/custom taxes or user fees for accessing the local business market from abroad?
ĄAnarchism, means stealing and so on, harming others as one, or leading the collective that does; unitalitarian, and than the totalitarian rule by mob mentality.
ĄRon Paul is a political turn coat and is up against a Libertarian by the way on Tuesday. None-the-less, communists tend to think I'm an anarchists, fellows like
Ąthat ring pincher, and they see me as the other right as left and left as right. Such as my main argument against Geddes is that he supports Party outsider and leader of an outside party who supported big time socialist outsider of his party (well many; even it's, NDP, Leader) the well known ring pincher and anti-privacy advocate (actions speak louder than words) Svend "Bend" Robinson (take that as you will I meant it as a double entandre, pointing out his relationship with special interest groups). According to the Vancouver Scrum Marc Emery sent the LPC back, now he, Ian King has gotten things wrong and misquoted me once and a while due to lousey recording devices and other things, but his knowlledge on things like this tend to be sound, at least much of the history (his old address, likely when discussing Mayoral 02 when Emery ran). None the less, his record on freedom is low and no doubt lobbied to keep me out as he, violating the BC Libertarian rule about sending out a
membership once the official seeks it, I have an E-Mail, well documented on my LPedia talk page among other places, where he the official admits to have recieving it (paper and check, left in limbo for a year
Ąwith a ?).
ĄHe declaired his lack of civility on me. Over a bloody border argument, at least since; my positiion being, if you think that borders are unnatural than you do not believe property lines to be, because those are borders.
Ą[2) BCLP strategies about supporting the NDP or Marijuana Party. I understand how this sort of thing can be upsetting, although I have the same problem with Libertarians supporting the Conservatives. I think it's all big government - I think they're all Collectivists. The NDP are more right about some issues such as foreign policy. I think we will attract people from the left, centre and right equally. But each to his own bias! That's not the issue.]
Ą
ĄI have a problem with all of it, back to Ron Paul (tx; http://www.politics1.com/tx.htm) for instance.
Ą[3) Having a problem with BC LP policies or how they treated you. I'm not able to judge this situation. Not the issue.]
ĄThey won't discuss it I suppose, hard with one side of the story.
Ą
Ą
Ą[The problems I have with your web page and other messages are these:
Ą
Ą1) The way in which you're criticizing the BC LP and its leadership - personal, by name, and how harsh it is. This is probably causing friction with other libertarians in B.C. and we want to work through problems and differences amicably. This will turn off the public. It's not appropriate for a riding contact. *These are our members also - most of them are members of the LPC*. We also want new people to get an appropriate idea of the Party.]
Ą
ĄI hurd this "ignore the discorse" song before; if it's ignored it's never dealt with, the leader of the LPC is in BC and miss a tax presentation by him because of their attitude,
Ąor at least their President's who is the one I criticize and caused the problem, which was not helped by the LPC leader by "rubbing elbows" which the prominant ones.
ĄYou said from the grass roots up; does he have a different position.
Ą[2) Calling Marc Emery "Narc Emery". And "whore" of pot. This is totally out of sync with our history considering who he is and our sympathy - of many of us - towards him in this time and towards his cause. People can find reasons to disagree - even with someone who is facing life in prison and extradition - but a representative of the Party needs to be careful to not be so harshly or crudely disrespectful of someone like Marc Emery.]
Ą
ĄHehe...Narc Emery, he does seem to get off easier than some caught with less and with less bragging. The right to remain silent is something I beleive in, freedoms shouldn't be treated like cast asides.
ĄDidn't read what I wrote on the petition I guess. I have been more than fair as a person who has broken no law and had be on the ballot as him as he incriminated himself
Ąwith pride; or PRIDE. Maybe all caps makes more sense; "our history." He is history he didn't support his boy Heathcliff Dionysus Campbell; http://w3.pornstitution.com/Federal.Can/Paine.County-GVRD/Vancouver/van.centre.shtml for the more press related Svend Robinson. I am not alone, many have stated this, I have sent you things on those named like him. 60 Minutes even made suggestions of the whorish media lifestyle.
Ą[3) Also something I noticed at least on one occasion is that some of your views seemed to be non-libertarian and advocating control of people, although I may have misunderstood it, but I think I caught the gist. This relates more to qualifications as a candidate.]
Ą
ĄWhich one? Hard to explain it. Or my ideal of qualifying them? Nominating multiples in one riding from the party
Ąas a sort of party for independent minded candidates? Or Not making people pay outrageous fees and time
Ąfor signature grabbing, beyond one for nomination and one to second it?
ĄStating the hypocrisy of being a communist party or an anarchist running for office?
ĄControl of People? People are always controlled; how else does one not stop another one or another mob from ruling over another aka harming another
Ąpresumably innocent person without controlling them, or stopping them from doing it (again at least)?
ĄStrange term; theft and fraud libertarian? That is controlled or the people are if you use Logic on the SZasz point of view on drug control.
ĄControlling Government controlls a great deal of people who are in trust.
ĄI am more philosophical than political, so excuse me if I don't conform to some mold and excerise a more existential view than some
Ąothers you are use to. I feel a bit controlled. Or at the attempt by the LPC as a mob.
Ą[4) Using the words "dykes" and "fags" is not appropriate for a riding contact in my view and probably everyone else's.]
Ą
ĄSupporting thought crime laws now? Policing thoughts? Deciding how others will react to what is to some, just a word? I wrote it, not some institution,
Ąinstitutions create nothing.
ĄI support free speech and a casual non-cowardly way of joking and speaking. No fuit if that is easier has ever complained to me, anyone who
Ąknows me, and as a candidate it's a few (in fact I was called by a bashee on election day very civily who wanted some Q&A about my 2005
Ąrun) knows I am not some gay bashing transAM jocky who roams around to beat some guy until I feel straight again.
ĄYou know nothing of me or my political stances or campaigns and you deduce some inappropriateness from this?
ĄI was the one advocating privacy, far from Emery or those other clowns who run for you out here. At least as much as I get to read.
ĄHow many municipal campaigns have the establishment you don't want offended out here ran? How much have they said publically;
ĄClarke has no website, Geddes talks on your board occasionally about how great weed is and nothing else. How much?
ĄVancouver-Kingsway was the best; now I lived next door to Clarke I cast no personal dispursians, and if he's still in 1070 Barclay I envy,
Ąunliterally, that, love the West End, our Campaigns (I was the manager, I turned 18 on 29 and election was 28th of May so I was the Manager
Ąand convinced the candidate) shared signatures for Liberty sake. He seemed alright and kept to himself. A private individual, something
ĄI can respect. Both kept out of too many debates in 1996. I think perhaps a bit itraverted, but that's not too bad, he is the most successful
Ąof the lower mainland candidates. Although that could be for all sorts of reasons. Maybe it's my insistance on nomination contests rather than
Ąsuspicious candidacy handouts or my opposition by the majority tyrranny like proportial representation and STV that mixes the other extreme
Ąpreferential balloting.
ĄLess pragmatism out there perhaps.
ĄIt is the corner stone of Liberty and Freedom not give those words power anymore call me a Lenny Bucish Libertarian. I am an irony given the
ĄChe Guevera comments I get when the press covers me (Goatee and Berret, and a little Swarth).
ĄYou looked into my political past at all? Or in all?
Ą[So I'm sorry if this is upsetting to you, because you have put a lot of effort into promoting the Party, but there are appropriate and inappropriate ways to do this for a Party representative. So I'm afraid I have to cancel your status as a riding contact. ]
Ą
ĄIf there was a complaint I have right to see it, if not, maybe you should think this through.
Ą[I hope you continue your pro-freedom message and best of luck in your mayoral campaigns, and I would hope that you will find opportunities locally to help the Party in terms of helping with meetings and elections in the future perhaps and offering people memberships - bearing in mind my concerns. ]
Ą
ĄWell I will support a Candidate that meets my individual standard. This is an individualist movement, am I right, when it comes down to it;
Ąalthough this writing to me seems less so.
ĄI do not speak or act diplomatic, I will never apologise for that, I am more philosophical and I am stuck having to be in political realm, I prefer
Ąto think and beyond Rand and L. Ron Hubbard; I prefer Paine and Voltaire. The Federalist Papers. P.J. O'Rourke and can I even say I
Ąagree with them 100%? No I agree with me 100%; and those I named, those who apply what I say in front of their view and not behind their back
Ąwielding a knife had always every option to openly offer a civil rebuttle. I had newsgroups linked, a bulletin board with no login required, and even
ĄLPedia offered rebuttle options on my personal talk page. ". I'm not able to judge this situation. Not the issue." you say, yet you can me. Not just
Ąa situation. I will state my suspicions and promote debate as much as possible. This is sort of hostile attitude, that makes it hard say, I am a
ĄLibertarian, I talked to a guy in Alberta just before things started growing there, now it may be a coincidence, but it would be damning him if he was
Ąpassing on what I sent him, and I'd hate a friend to suffer. What I did? I hope still to build a reasoned rank-in-file with little interest in an establishmentarian
ĄBCLP view, but this is not and will not help the bottom up talk you promice you gave me about the party's growth. I didn't want to join a party let alone
Ąbe a Candidate. I just feal a requirement for the sake of freedom to be there even if it gives an internal option.
