Esotericists like myself recognize that Freemasonry has esoteric content,
and that men with esoteric interests helped shape the ritual. However, that
is far, far different than saying that Freemasonry is esoteric in nature.
Clearly it is not, and one need have not the slightest interest in
esoterica to find value and meaning in the Craft and its ritual.

No, it's just another example of the Keith Word Association Game. You see a

Who's ignorant? Those of us who know how to use a newsreader? Those of us

sentences together to make sense? Those of us who can have a conversation
without jumping from topic to topic?
Non Anal, *we* are not ignorant. *We* have been trying to answer your

do. Think about that for a bit - we have not agreed with anything that
you've posted in ten years, we poke fun at your nonsensical websites and
howl at the non sequiters that you come up with. You can't even tell the
difference between parody and research. You often don't even read the
websites that you point out, and when ou do, you miss the point entirely.
Remember last week when you tried to post something about "the mother of all

Do you carry a mental health diagnosis?
>Here's another website saying Freemasonry is esoteric in nature!
That was never in question, Keith. Masonic symbolism is highly
esoteric in nature -- BUT do you fully understand what the word
"esoteric" means?
It does NOT mean "magickal" or "new age" or anything of the sort.
ESOTERIC means nothing other than "particular or private or meaningful
to one particular group to the exclusion of others."
The Apron is an esoteric symbol - I don't know of any group that uses
the Apron the same way for the same purposes as the Masons. However,
it is not mystical or magickal or secret. There have been many
discussions here on what the Apron means, you see?
The Boy Scouts have esoteric symbolism. The Church has esoteric
symbolism. Almost every organization has symbolism which is
meaningful to them, and only them, for their own purposes. That is
what "esoteric" means.
The emoticon, or typed smiley-face, is esoteric symbolism. It is
used and useful only to a particular group -- people who communicate
over the Internet. It's quite a large group, but to anyone who does
NOT communicate over the Net, the :-> or the ; - P will have no
meaning whatever. It's esoteric.
When the author of that webpage states that he is discussing the
esoteric symbolism of Washington's Apron, he is only stating that he
is discussing it from the point of view of a Mason; the same symbols
may mean other things to other people, but he was discussing it from
one particular viewpoint -- that is, esoterically.
These questions answer themselves when you actually try to understand
all the words, Keith.

Crops Circles are a interesting subject on geometry plus they are
sublime in nature so that's two hits close to Freemasonry! Just because you
think they are kooky and anyone who post anything on them here is kooky is
your problem, they are a mystery such like Freemasonry is.
Keith
Well when we all start confessing to our misgivings Jim I chime in
along with the rest of you sinners.Until then this condescending action you
and others have tried is not going to work and frankly it's disgusting!
Your incognito friend there that hides in the shadows is a coward and ask
stupid questions, good company you keep there. You and others here can
ASScertain any conclusion you wish. See if I care and this intimidation is
going to be fruitless. So go now and tell all, he didn't answer so he must
be.Your showing your true self Jim,it's great you have!
Keith
All of this doesn't hide the fact you are still avoiding his simple
question.
What is the answer to it - "yes" or "no"?
Freemasonry is simply a dining society. It cooks pancakes so that
youth groups can publish magazines that require lodges to buy adds.
There is no room for any of this "symbolism" crap.
"Freemasonry is a peculiar system of morality veiled in allegory and
illustrated by symbols."
But the symbols mean exactly what the ritual says they mean. They
have no connection, either directly or indirectly, with any
philosophical system that ever existed on the planet. It just sprang
free-form and independently out of London in 1717 fully formed and
intact just as it has been handed down today.
Oh wait a minute. They didn't confer the third degree in 1717? Oh,
it didn't even exist in 1717? Hmmm...then it was an innovation! It
must be removed, because it is not part of Freemasonry.
All Masonic symbols are emblematic. They mean exactly what your Lodge
Education Officer says they mean. He thinks they mean exactly what
the ritual says they mean. There is no need to go doing all that
"thinking" stuff. All the "thinking" has been done for you. It is
easy, just sign the dotted line and pay your dues. That is all we
ask. Oh, and give to the Grand Masters annual capital campaign.
Freemasonry is not esoteric; it is emblematic.
Masons do not have the capcity to think on their own; they believe
what they are told.
'Nuff sed.

Mr. Johnson, there are countless shapes made by man and nature that
are an "interesting subject on geometry", and there are countless
objects and concepts that are sublime in nature. Are you trying to
suggest that this makes all those things Masonic?
You really need to step back and look at the bigger picture,. Mr.
Johnson.
> Just because you
> think they are kooky and anyone who post anything on them here is kooky is

No, Mr. Johnson, the discussion of crop circles in a crop circle-
related newsgroup is not kooky, nor is the discussion of geometry in a
geometry-related newsgroup. And exploring the sublime nature of
anything is a fine hobby.
But, discussing them here, where the topic is Freemasonry is kooky.
Assuming as you do that because geometry is used to describe crop
circles and it happens to be one of the seven arts and sciences
Freemasons are encouraged to study, crop circle are Masonic is, to be
quite honest, kooky.
