Hi there,

is there any free usenet provider around?
I don´t want to pay a setup fee or anything else. I just want to read
and post to non binary groups. So is there a way to do this without
having to use this service over my ISP?

Thank you, but the list doesn´t provide if you are allowed to post too.

As stated on the web site, it only lists server that allow posting.

Seems to be a little out of date as it still has news.motzarella.org
instead of news.eternal-september.org

Albasani Eternal-September (was Motzaralla) AIOE (small quotas)

Does t-online even offer newsgroups service? If they do, why not use
them if that service is already included in what you're paying them for
Internet services?

Hardly changed at all in months.

I use t-online for internet access and also for accessing the usenet.
The problem is that access is only granted by using the t-online login
with DSL.
But I travel a lot by train and want a connection to the usenet,
therefore using t-online is not possible at all.

Yes it does.

Maybe he wants to use the newsserver not only when connected via
T-Online and doesn't know about the inofficial way to use it from anywhere.

So, if I understand you, your ISP allows connections to their NNTP
server only if you are on their network at the time you make that
connection. My ISP was the same way (until they dropped the newsgroups
service completely). I used remote access to get to my home computer
while travelling with a laptop. Not only did this let me do newsgroups
from my home computer using my ISP's newsgroups service but it let me
use any applications that were installed on my home computer.

Since mid 2008, you can access news.t-online.com from other networks
with your T-Online eMail-credentials via SSL.
