Seeing the same thing on microsoft.public.windows.general as well, on Motz.

That should have been microsoft.public.windowsxp.general ...
Paul
That's exactly what happened. I had to clean up some newsgroups due to
extremely high article numbers, which caused some news readers to choke.
For those who have access to Motzarella, there is a list of the affected
newsgroups im motzarella.info.

411: no such group alt.free.newservers
Time was 00:30:31 EDT in North America.

It could be that, while setting up some filters to ban Wesley Mouch and his
public relations czar (yours truly) Ray Banana managed to screw the pooch,
so to speak! Or, it might even be that the State Science Institute hackers
and crackers are busy re-configuring the cheesy free news server so it comes
closer to actually working????

I have read that same post [Breaking News] and, like when I peruse many of
your posts, I could not quite comprehend what the savant was saying. I
detected a highly developed intelligence, but non egocentric. It is clear
that the author's development is not arrested at the anal stage like yours
is. I did detect a bit of cunning sarcasm now and then, however. This tells
me the author is possessed of some measure of advanced cognitive powers and,
unlike yourself, is able to comprehend the workings of language at a
functional level while expressing himself at a critical level that is both
meaningful and humorous. You could learn a thing or two from this bloke's
style.
But, please excuse my ignorance as I fail to see your point about the two
unmentionable points. Are some words describing religion and sexual
persuasion verboten on Usenet these days? Are they so horrendous? Do
thoughts and opinions expressed in written English cut deeply into your thin
skin? And, are you suggested that certain admins might become so upset at
the very sight of mere words that it prompts them to gather to plot and
scheme banishment of the heinous offender who so offends their
sensibilities? Would their time not be better spent in tasks other than
policing language?
Oh, I think I get it now! (hits forehead with palm of hand) It's that word
"erudite." Surely I, Gregory Hall, own that word. I have it copyrighted. I
am the sole proprietor. Anybody else using it must be me.
Bwahahhahahahahahhahahahahh! This chap who is giving you and the other net
nannies ulcers I must tip my hat to him. Usenet rightly belongs to the
intelligentsia. You lowbrows can try as you might to reduce Usenet to
sterile puerility but you will fail. Do yourself a favor. Give it up!
In the famous words on one John Galt, "Get the hell out of my way!"
