This is a brush set designed to emulate real brushes and color mixing. A
lot of folks were happy with v1 of these brushes, so give 'em a try, and let
me know what you think.

These brushes are for Painter 7, for those of you who haven't heard of them.
The ZIP archive file needs to be extracted with the use-folder-names (create
folders) option active.

Hi !
I'm downloaded Chris' Fine Art Brushes and I'm placed folder named
Fine Art 2 in my folder : Painter 7 ----Brushes ----Painter Brushes
with other brushes folders,
I start Painter 7 but I don't see nothing in Brushes Palette, there
are only default brushes.
I attempt to "Load Library" and re-load "Painter Brushes" but
nothing change.........only brushes default are loaded.
I attempt to "Import" brush library, but I don't find a .BRS file.
I attempt to close PC and to start again, but ...only default
brushes..
Can you help me, please ?

Does that apply to Mac only? I just extracted the zip directly into the

When you unzip the file, the Fine Art 2 brushes are in a Painter 7 brush
library folder. Just move that folder into the Painter 7 > Brushes
folder with all of the other brush libraries, like the default Painter
Brushes library.
Then in Painter 7, at the bottom of the Brushes palette's brush category
list, click Load Library. The Brush Libraries dialog will open
displaying a list of all brush libraries available to load into Painter
7.
Scroll down the list to find the Fine Art 2 brush library, highlight it,
and click the Load button. Now the Fine Art 2 brush library is ready to
use in Painter 7.
All Painter 7 brush variants are .XML files organized inside brush
category folders. The brush category folders then need to be inside
brush library folders and, in order to be available to use in Painter 7,
those brush library folders need to be in the Painter 7 > Brushes
folder. Otherwise, they won't appear in the Brush Libraries dialog box
list when you click Load Library.
What you did was place a brush library folder inside a brush library
folder. Only brush category folders go into brush library folders.
Since the Fine Art 2 brushes are Painter 7 brushes you would not find
them by clicking the Import button and looking for a .BRS file. .BRS
files are only for Painter 6 and earlier versions.
