LDPE and cooking oils

There are common plastic squeeze bottles for condiments and oils. They are all apparently LDPE. The bottles that cooking oil comes in are PETE. Wikipedia says LDPE gets a 'minor attack' from cooking oils. It doesn't say for PETE. How long can LDPE bottles hold cooking oils before they leach toxic levels... more »

Microwave's glass shattered. What the heck?

Hi! I hope these are the correct newsgroups to talk about microwaves (not ovens). This morning, I found out that the kitchen's microwave's door glass shattered overnight (there's a hole on the glass and some shattered pieces on the floor). It wasn't used/on overnight and was used yesterday for dinner.... more »
