Does anyone have a recipe for stuffed habaneros? Or a good one for
stuffed jalapenos, which I can modify? Thanks.

What do you want to stuff them with?

I've always been fond of jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese which has been
modified with cumin, garlic, pepper and lime juice.

Here's a recipe for 'wolf turds', see addendum at bottom for habaneros

Cowtown Wolf Turds
By Bigwheel

30-40 jalapeno Peppers
Pork Loin--slice thin strips (I used tenderloin)
Soy Sauce
Bacon Strips cut in half
Lemon Pepper or Greek Seasoning

Split seed and devein peppers
Marinade pork in soy sauce
Stuff peppers with marinated pork
Wrap with bacon using toothpicks to hold together
Dust with seasoning

Smoke or grill till done.

If you like very hot food use habanero peppers in place of jalapeno
and change name to Cowtown Dragon Turds

I don't know--just trying to get some ideas. Your recipe is a great
start though. Thanks.

I like ridiculously hot food--I eat jalapenos like pickles.

Ooops. Didn't mean to post that last one--just tried to fix my (now
obvious) spelling error.

Here is a good recipe I have tried using "Mezzetta" brand jarred "tamed"
jalapenos:
Slice the peppers open and remove the guts.
Insert a fresh cleaned shrimp into the pepper.
Wrap the pepper with a partial slice of thick sliced bacon and hold together
with a toothpick.
Grill on the bbq (best), indoor grill, or broil.

I have tried using fresh peppers for the recipe and they were too hot for
family, friends and even me, a confirmed chili head.
Enjoy
Bill

I used your recipe last night, substituting quartered habaneros for the
jalapenos and they were great! Thanks again.

That recipe looks terrific... Also, I was thinking a shish-kebob style,
more than one stuffed pepper on a skewer, plus a cherry tomato and slice
of onion, too, would be really cool, too.

too many too's?

A little late on this, but new to the group. This is a favorite
at my house.

Texas Sizzlers

Always good, but dynamite
when grilled over mesquite.

Prep: 1 hour 20 minutes
Cook: 4 minutes
Servings: 24 appetizers

1-1/2 lbs. beef flank steak
1/2 cup salsa
12 whole fresh jalapeno peppers halved
lengthwise and seeded
1/4 cup herbed cream cheese
-- toothpicks --

Slice steak in 1/4-inch thick strips,
4 inches long. Cut across grain holding
knife at an angle. Marinate beef strips
in salsa for one hour. Fill each jalapeno half
with 1/2-tsp. cream cheese.

Wrap filled jalapenos with one steak
strip covering cream cheese as you wrap.
Fasten steak ends with toothpick.

Grill or broil 4 inches from heat for 4 minutes
turning after 2 minutes. Do not overcook.

Interesting that you can make stuffed habaneros without including any
in the dish........
