The Taco Bell which sells them for $1.99 is a *privatly owned*
franchise. (...probably owned by some Pakistani who just got
off the boat with 50 rupees last week also) As such they are not
bound to honoring special meal discounts. Go someplace else
and your probably be better off too, as Ish-kabble with the 50 rupees
probably also has his wife, kids and cousins working back in the
kitchen out of sight, and their mixing *dog and cat meat* in with
the ground beef to cut expenses and sell to American suckers.

The price of the cheesy bean and rice burrito is 99 cents.
The chicken version is $1.89 the beef is $1.49. Its far more likely
that the original poster ordered the chicken version or alternativly
who ever rang his order pressed the wrong button.
However, if they are charging $1.99 for a bean version
I challenge the OP to scan a receipt and post it and expose them as crooks.
Somehow I think this overcharging claim wont be prooved.

Why would I make this up? I went to the register and asked how much it
was. They said 1.99. I asked how much with beef, they said 2.49.
Chicken?- 2.89.

The place overcharges for EVERYTHING (a Bean Burrito is Like 1.50
[approx]). But this was egregious.
Why should I buy the thing, overpay, just to scan a receipt? I don't
care if you think I am lying. Why the hell would I lie about this
random topic? What do I have to gain? I was just peeved the other day
about this crap and wanted to vent somewhere.

I thought your whole story was based on not understanding the different
pricing.
Animal meat / racist guy was right, its a privately owned franchise
(express) tacobell.
They can charge what ever they want.

I am just very angry that there is like 1 taco bell in walking
distance in the biggest city in the world, but there are 6 McDonalds,
3 BKs, 2 Wendys, 2 white castles, 6-8 subways.
And this 1 Taco Hell (probably is privately owned) should not be
allowed to carry the new product if they won't honor the price.

big mac or any of their other sandwiches should cost more than one
dollar. They are just not worth it. The new dollar menu was a good step
however. I recently paid over 2.00 for a fish sandwich just because I
was starving. :-) I don't want to feel cheated after eating there.
Mcdonald's straighten this out and "value" meals are not the answer.
They are not a value at all.
