I remember when some states made it illegal for newspapers to
expose a suspect's race. In answer to your second question, I think
it's because it gives the reporters more fun in trying to expose the
person's race without being allowed to say it. They have to resort to
trickery. Some call it journalism. For example, the suspect's name
might be Robert Jones (could be anybody), but the reporters go out of
their way to write that when he left home he told everyone he was on
his way to his sister Tamiqua's place to spend the night and listen to
some new hip hop CDs he just bought. Bad example from me there, but
you get the idea. Personally, the black/white thing bores me - but
I'll jump in just for old time's sake when I tended to look at things
in a black and white way. No more. Now I am wise beyond my years and
getting wiser all the time. Kill me soon before I explode.
