ah yes, and what ever did happen to the woman they painted in Goldfinger?
Nate, who wont necassarily go swimming in latex either....
It wasn't a lion, it was a tiger. In fact, they had 4 different tigers
they used for the movie. One of them did die as a result of being
painted, but not because the paint was toxic.
To dye the animals, they had to sedate them first, and one of them
never woke up from the anesthetic. There was some investigation into
the incident to see if any animal cruelty was involved, or so I heard.

That wasn`t a lion, that was a tiger. I have seen the movie a couple
of times. That's when I noticed that the 'loin' had darker stripes
when view from the right angle (i.e. any way but looking up the nose
or up the tail).

Airplane (The movie)
No no no! What happened was that they forgot to leave a little
unpainted area around its tail, for its skin to 'breathe', and
it died of 'suffocation'...

Sounds similar to what happened to Buddy Ebsen when he was cast as the
original Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz. He was painted with aluminum paint
(on face and hands) and became so sick (allergic?) that he had to drop out
and they got a new guy to play the part.

i would, if the tiger was in cage and i could do it by just sticking the
nozzle of a spraygun between the bars.
but what i wonder about is the plastic wrap tv ad which shows a tiger
chewing on a steak wrapped in the competition. on the screen appears the notice
"tiger did not consume plastic wrap". what i wanna know, is who took it
away from the tiger, and how?

Hmmm... Vandalising wildlife with a paintspray, eh? You haven't
been painting any radioactive deer white lately, have you?
As for tiger-friendly food-wrap, I just read today about a new
sort of protective film made of food-protiens. You can put this stuff
in the middle of your PBJ sandwich to keep the peanut-butter from
mixing with the jelly or the jelly from soaking into the bread and
making a mess that no kid would be able to trade for a chocolate
cupcake... The product is still in the development stage, and I
gather it's made from celulose and chitin-protien from crustaceans...
(doesn't sound like it would be kosher) With this and the new
biodegradable plates some clever Japanese inventer made from rice, you
could feed a whole place-setting to a tiger without ill-effects.
I've always thought tigers were such incredibly magnificent
creatures (with the possible exception of "Frosted Flakes[tm]"
pitchman Tony), and it always seems so unnatural to see one cooped up
in one of those terrible tiny cages. I like Hobbes' theory that the
purpose of humans on Earth is "TIGER FOOD"... >;->
