Did he play the guy in the chair? I missed that connection.

If you have a computer you have ROT-13 capability, perhaps you need a
nickel to get a real computer.

Or perhaps I prefer getting my newsgroups through Newsguy's own DRN (Direct Read
News) interface instead of opening up another application just to read the
occasional encrypted blurb....r

Doesn't really matter. If you have web access, you can always go to one of
the many online ROT13 encryption/decryption engines, like
http://www.degraeve.com/rot13.php and just copy&paste between it and your
news articles.

If their newsreader doesn't support something as basic and long-
established as rot13, it's badly outdated.

If they were indistinguisable, how do you know that?

In any case, I don't think "indistinguishable" applies. The
robot did not look like a human woman, only like Bai Ling, who is
sufficiently way-out-there that it would not surprise me to learn
that this Asian business was all a cover-up and she really came
from Fomalhaut or someplace.

True. But it's not hard to cut and paste into a web page that
offers rot13 translation. And those can be easily Goggled.

You mean because of the "I come from the moon where my grandmother
lives" business or has she done/said something else sufficiently way-
out-there?

Well, I get most of my Bai Ling news from a site called _Go Fug
Yourself,_ which presents the various atrocities famous and
infamous people choose to wear in public. Bai Ling was a
front-runner of theirs a year or two ago; she has slacked off
recently, or at least photo coverage of her has.
