"We don't make CINC's the way we used to":
http://members.aol.com/deawatch/daily.htm
I believe that it was just over two weeks ago that someone penned
something in DEA Watch about a possible DOD investigation into the
validity of John Kerry's Vietnam War medals... and what a big mistake
that would be... particularly during the election season. Well, it
appears another DEA Watch prediction has come true... the Navy IG has
received requests from none other than, guess who: Republican
complainers... to formally open an investigation into Kerry's war
medals.
The news media hasn't yet investigated the IG's political leanings...
but just as sure as flies swarm on s**t the media will eventually get
around to his complete political history... and whether or not anyone
in the White House was in anyway involved in getting the Navy to
launch this investigation now instead of waiting until after the
election in November.
Needless to say, the deck is stacked against Kerry having all of his
medals confirmed by today's Navy as valid since every top naval
officer was appointed by George Bush... it's kind of like having the
Republican majority on the Supreme Court judge a federal election...
Oooops! That's already been done.
Of course, if George Bush were smart he would pick up the telephone
and say to the Navy IG: "Do you recognize my voice... Good!... as your
Commander-in-Chief I am officially ordering you to terminate your
investigation into Senator Kerry's war medals. I am also notifying you
that I am issuing an order declaring the Navy's awards to John Kerry
30 years ago as final... not to be questioned by you or anyone in the
Navy in the future." Of course, Bush would never do that. But doing
that would require Kerry to stop bringing up Bush and Cheney's
cowardice during the Vietnam war.
Several years ago a grossly incompetent and sex-obsessed CINC didn't
think to intervene with executive action when the Navy CNO was accused
of wearing a decoration he was lawfully, but possibly mistakenly
awarded. Had Bill Clinton spent more time thinking about his duty as
CINC instead of chasing airhead p**sy he could have prevented the
suicide of Admiral Boorda simply by picking up the telephone and
exercising his privilege as CINC.
But, let's face it, because both Clinton and Bush were both wartime
cowards neither can be expected to think like true CINC's think... and
do the right thing.
Fifty years ago a REAL CINC named Ike told the wacko Republican
pushing the Communist witch-hunt in the Senate to shut up and go home.
Clinton and Bush are no Eisenhower! We just don't make CINC's the way
we used to.
