Is there any phenomena that makes a digital camera show ghost-like objects on
pictures that were taken on clear nights. I had something show up on some
picture that were taken at one locations, but then it did not appear on others
that were taken on he same location.

Thank you all in advance for your help with this.

Lo,
Yes there are! digital camera's are prone to producing false
images..they seem to pick up light reflected on dust particles that produces
some vvveerry weird images at times. If you do a search on orbs on any
search engine you will find lots of sites that claim to show paranormal
phenomena. Look at some of these and you will see the kind of thing im on
about.
When you have had a gut full of these images go into your living room
with you camera and kneel down near a chair etc with a cushion on and
position yourself so that you can point your camera towards a light source.
Whack the cushion about a bit and then snap a few shots off. It's not too
difficult to get results and in no time it will look as though your living
room is a portal to the 'other world'.. well on camera at least. Bet you
didn't see those weird lights when you where in the room did you? :o)
Regards,
fatbob.

Thankyou, I did notice that type of picture with the Orbs. What about ghost
images, sort of like taking a double exposures? Can this sort of thing happen
with digital cameras accidentally?

Here's one I took a while back with a digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 990):

Still skeptical, but interesting nonetheless !

The earliest expiration date was around 1836 that I saw.
I didn't search the whole yard, but it was a great day for shooting.
All I can think is that some of the fog had some refractory elements from existing
light sources that made that "orb". If you explore that area, there are a lot of
strange things in the woods. I gather the indians used to used the area of Mt
Wachusett in Princeton MA quite frequently. I'v found small pile of stone cairns and
markings on the rocks that weren't even near any type of formal "trail" system.

Nice pics. Clear too. Can't answer you on that "orb" looking thing.
Could still be an electronic thing inside the camera, but then again?
I know that spirits can appear at will in a split second just as the
camera shutter is being opened, then disappear and the naked eye never
sees it.

Now I did notice some strange faces in the grass on this picture:
DSCN2881.htm They are on the right side closest to the camera; could
just be nothing also. I wasn't there so wouldn't know what you felt.

Joe, I noticed a stone wall surrounding the cemetery in your photo. Was the
wall in the shape of a circle by chance? Just curious.

Cheers ~ Amber

It's pretty old and built on a sloping hill, but as I recall, it was square but
kinda skewed to fit the shape of the land.

Good eye ! There are some shadows from the branches also
I was taking those photos in western mass at a graveyard that had rolling hills and was similar (at least to me)
of the old boot hill cemetaries that I had seen in movies.
The only other folks in the yard at the time were a group of convicts that were cleaning up the yard. Sounds like
a setting ffor a movie, eh ?

The other photo from the western mass cemetary that had "orbs" in it was:
http://www.mediawelldone.net/pix/dirtnap/pages/DSCN2865.htm

But I can safely say that with this one I was shooting kinda into the sun which was peeking though the clouds.
As was the case with this one also:
http://www.mediawelldone.net/pix/dirtnap/pages/DSCN2872.htm

My guess is that all were anomolies (sp?) within the digital camera/optics.
But who knows ?...

Not sure what the question was, but if you want to see a couple of my orb
photos and a photo of what appears to be a ghost flying, go to
http://melindapatrick.com/boo/boo1.html
I can't say I understand what the orbs are, and I sure don't understand the
ghostly image that looks like it's flying, but they sure make me wonder.

I've got more to post and will do that asap. I threw these up when I started
reading this newsgroup.

Good pix melinda. I am convinced that there is some relation between orbs
and hauntings. However I am equally convinced that some alleged or mistaken
orbs are actually dust particles etc that are captured by the camera. How to
tell the difference I don't know. Maybe someone here has a thought about
this. These photos look pretty kewel though. Thanks for sharing.
