Well, Iv'e got BIG arrows pointing to them in the wide shots.
Perhaps you have a lousy server. I discovered that not all servers are equal
when I posted a scan of a printed form on one of my other web pages. On most
servers it was crystal clear, but on the generic AOL internet screens it was un
readable.
Then again YOU might be BLIND. ;-)

Very funny. :) I'm positive that it is because the pictures don't show up
clear enough. It must be because EVERYONE else see these things. Then again , I
might just be blind.<sigh>

STILL, It might be your internet server screen. Try reading a scan of printed
material
at my "Cyberdrill" site at
http://www.freeyellow.com/members/cyberdrill/index.html
Go to the "see our daily report" or " see our mud log" in the "services"
section.
If you cannot easily read the small text, then your server screen is
"crappy"---Try to link your server to Microsoft IE--for the screen display and
you will get MUCH clearer pictures.
We discovered this when some of out clients reported that they couldnt read the
text on the scanned images.

Have any of you thought that the resolutin of your computer screen might be
the culprit and not your SERVER? I never heard that a server can send
"crappy" pictures.

To resolve, go into control panels, display icon, and change your resolution
to a higher grade (maybe 16 or 24 bit colour) as opposed to 256 colours?
Merry Christmas.

Actually when your on AOL your not really on the internet, you are looking at a
"rebroadcast" of sorts of the real internet. Or so I've heard.

I guess the obvious resolution would be to get off AOL and hookup with a
regular ISP? On other matters, I'm Canadian and I can't even imagine how
AOL got that many americans hooked up onto their system for the price they
were charging ( i think now AOL must've decreased the charges.) Anyway,
it's way off topic, but my 2cents in for the AOL saga. thanks for listening
and have a merry christmas!

One reason is, AOL will do a direct bank draft for payment and everyone else
requires credit cards.

Those pictures remind me alot of finding faces in the clouds, or looking at
inkblots. Maybe there's something there, or maybe it's just imagination.

That was MY first concern myself. I kept asking myself "is there really
something there or am I fooling myself?"
But if the forms were only approximate, I could concur with the
"imagination/cloud" theory, but the images have DETAILS that are too numerous
and too correct for mere co-incidence alone. The little girl has a Drop waist
dress--you can make out the belt, you can see boots on her feet(the left boot
is hard to see because it is partially behind the right leg) and strings on her
collar. She is in PERFECT proportion and the clothing is entirely right for
the time. The lady has a detailed hair style which is also correct for the
era. You can see eyes and even her cheek bones.
ALL this stuff is just too much for chance alone. The images that I pointed
out are the best in this respect. Sure there are other "faces", etc. near the
lady, but They do not exhibit enough fineness of detail, IMHO, to permit me to
eleminate the "imagination effect".---But they still might be authentic anyway.

Well, I am puzzled, you should at least be able to see the little girl's
collar--the white thing with the "strings" on it. The lady's head is neat the
bottom of the white blob, in profile, looking to the left.
Perhaps you are looking for a "preconcieved" shape on your part and cant find a
match. The images are quite obvious.

I am too lazy to look up the URLs of the pics, but I have them on my web page

look in the "Ghost and spirits" section.

I tried this experiment walking home from work one night, and you can
too...mind you, I'm not saying it totally explains Tom's photos...but, yes, a
lot can be said for the power of suggestion...

I decided, remembering Tom's pix, that I was going to look at the next bunch of
trees I passed and see if I could make myself make out any images from the
foilage, sort of an impromptu Rorschach test.

A funeral home (by accident) was the first well-lit lot containing a large
group of trees. I glanced up into the fall leaves and IMMEDIATLY saw a large
"Cameo" image, similar to the woman's head in Tom's photo. The hair was styled
in a 50's-ish bob and she was looking to the left, it was a pretty convincing
picture, granted, there was little in the way of detail and such...

Now, before anyone jumps me that I might have actually seen "something"...as I
passed the lot, I turned and looked back at the same group of trees from the
other side...now, granted, my imagination is pretty powerful at times... ;)

On the other side of the trees was a perfect, large image of the skull of a
Sabre-toothed Tiger...which I doubt was haunting that funeral-home parking lot,
seriously...

Just me being me...

I HAVE thought about this ever since I took and saw the pictures. There are
TWO facts, however, that make me still lean twoard the GHOST theory in this
case.
First, there were the only photos in which I could find any images--although I
took 12 in the graveyard against similar appearing folliage. The other fact is
the DETAIL that seems too much for coincidental shapes.
We are more subject to such "imaginations" when seeing the trees, etc.
"live"--as we can imagine missing details based upon the suggestion of
shapes--but a photo IS A HARD image. The details ARE visible and you can sit
down and study them closely.---not like looking at it a few moments "live"

I have to agree with Tom here. DH and I play the "what's in the cloud shape"
game. And you can find shapes in almost anything with a texture. Especially if
you have an active imagination. So, I'm not de-bunking anyone else. But, the
shapes I saw in Toms photos looked a lot more distinct than say, the rest of
the foliage in his photos. I mean, if they were random shapes, we'd be able to
spot dozens of other shapes, just by using our imaginations. These images stand
out.

I went and looked at them again , and while it is still not too clear , I
could make out a couple things , like the girls head and collar , and her boot.
I saw the womans profile too. I don't think we are seeing these things solely
by suggestion , Nicole. We just needed it pointed out where to look. And we
found what we were looking for !
