I suggest an exorcist. S/he will probably remove all traces of
Microsloth software and thus drive out the demons.

However, if you are using a real operating system, you probably
have a configuration error or a hardware failure. The
configuration error is more likely.

This group of old fogies generally has no patience with unsound
software and unethical business practices.

Are you sure you meant to post on this newsgroup?

Ah yes... I remember the Athlon... It was a good processor. Made by AMD
I believe. I still have one - it runs even older versions of Windows
than yours: I still use 2000, and Win98 !
Remember when we all used to run win 3.1. Heck, I even ran Win 3.1 on a
286 in ONE meg of memory (had to run real of course)
Now about your XP problem.... give us a call back here in 5 years or
so, when we can discuss XP in a more 'folklorish' manner. (And I'm sure
there'll be plenty of folklore about it! ;-)
In the meantime, try one of the Windows-xp groups such as
alt.os.windows-xp

Thank you all for both the ironies and (some) good advice.
Sorry about bumping into your list, it was not intentional.
