I plan to go up to Lake Erie in June when the Walleye limit raises up. I've bought some dipsy divers that are designed to troll at 20 and 25 feet below. Does this sound about right forthe area above Toledo

Thanks
Landon

You don't really need the divers there. Besides, if you troll, the salmon,
bass and muskies will mess up your walleye fishing. We just drift while
bouncing heavy jigs and safety-pin spinners baited with minnows, leeches or
crawlers. It will be mixed-bag unless you locate them with a sounder. We
get jumbo perch, white bass, and smallmouth and the walleye seem to come in
waves.

The bottom is mostly sand, but with zebra mussels making a crust on top.
It will cut mono in a hurry, use a superline out here.

Most ppl I know only use the divers on the Detroit River about 30 miles
north of Toledo. Trolling with crawler harnesses seems to be more prevalent
on the lake. If you want to use lures, Storm Hot and Tots is always popular
here too.
