My Dad asked me a couple weeks ago. Why do FF use straight streams most of
the time when they have adjustable nozzles?

I know that streams are used in flashover situations, to lower the thermal
at the ceiling. Penciling, they call it. And when you have a deck gun across
the street, and you need to get the water there.

But most of the time, I sure think that a fog pattern would be more
effective. Especially when a room is totally involved.

You ought to know. After all, you're the expert. I bet you even put
out a fire once. You saw a lit cigarette on the sidewalk and you armed
yourself with your garden hose and 5000 gallons of water later, the fire
was out and your neighborhood was flooded.

Besides, a guy who talks about Jesus as much as you, dont need
firefighters. Jesus will put out the fire when your house is burning.
Just ask him!
