Spent the afternoon in the Andy Warhol exhibit.
It was a small exhibit of some of his portraits.
Relaxing and fun. The narration of the exhibit was done by Liza Minnelli.
I love strolling through art galleries.
He was certainly close to right with his quote "In the future everyone will
be famous for fifteen minutes."
Seems that way sometimes what with 24/7 news on TV.

I like to roam around galleries also, Beth. Only problem here in Englewood,
there are not too many of them. I have to go to Tampa for that. Of course,
Tampa or St. Pete for those. St. Pete has the Dali museum, which is always
good for a laugh or two.

Yeah, Dali, I could never get the idea behind his art????
But I would still enjoy seeing the gallery.
Santa Fe, NM has the Georgia O'Keefe gallery which is lovely. I get
flowers. :)
Beautiful place to see.

Yes, I know the one you mean. It is haunting. I can't remember the
title (Julia?) or the painter, but it is very powerful. IIt makes me
think of a book cover. I want to read the book and learn the story
behind the painting.

Exactly! why is she in the field all alone? What illness does she have,
if any? What/who is in the structure that she wants so badly? Mysterious.

"Christina" by Andrew Wyeth. I love his paintings. Now I can't think of my
favorite of his..Looking down on an eagle soaring over a desert with a single
house. Darned senior moments. LOL

Thank you, Norma! That's one thing I can stop worrying about. ;-) I
wish I could help you with your title. It sounds like a wonderful
painting, but I don't think I've seen it.

Thanks, Jim. This discussion reminds me of one of the things I love
about this newsgroup. Ask a question about almost anything, and
somebody here knows the answer, or at least knows where you can find it.

That explained a little bit about the painting. Christina was his cousin.
And, surprise, the model was Wyeth's wife with Christina's arms. I
disremembered some of it, but the message got through.

Interesting story. Thanks for the link.
I was in the Farnsworth Museum, where the Wyeth Center is located, in
Rockland, Maine last summer.
Beautiful little town.
