You have a great site Julie, I have sat here going through it,
pictures, stories, etc for well over an hour and I am not through
yet. LOL Thanks, and I love the wedding pics. It is so nice to
see a wedding that is real, and not so darn artificial. Great!
Oh, and I am not through with the rest yet. But I will get back
on it soon as possible.

Very pretty, Julie....do you have the painting gene? Other than for ceilings, I
mean. ;-)

How nice, Julie! I really liked some of those. And the
needlework reminded me of my mom....

How wonderful to have these, you are very lucky Julie !
My great aunt was a great painter, to us anyway, and my sister has many of
her paintings.
One of the disadvantages of my being so far from Europe at the time that she
died :-((
Thanks for sharing them :-)

gone now. I *am* lucky. Julie

Jean, I have another needlepoint picture and a pillow I'll put on the
site soon, bu they're both in where Bob's asleep (and I should be).
Mom's got more pillows, and bunches of pictures, including one she was
going to send me ages ago. It's a mountain scene probably 2' x 3'...
All my life I've known that would be mine some day. I *think* when I
was very small Omi was making that one, and we talked about it coming
to me. I'll bet she was younger during that converstaion than I am
now... hard to imagine. Julie

How sad, Toddy. You should ask your sister to send you photos of the
paintings; maybe she'd take the hint and send you an actual painting
or two! Julie

You're right! And I know it!
Bob has a "heroes wall" where he has Nathan Forest Bedford, Hopalong
Cassidy, and many others. A portrait of Granddaddy has joined them,
and *he* looks very happy there! Julie

Yes, Toddy. You and your sister get along well, so mebbe you can
somehow, gently, get her to see that you would like to have at
least one of her painting to remember her by. I sure wish I had
even the smallest enameled piece by the woman who was like a
second mom to me. I actually may have one, but since my mom and
she did similar work, and some of the pieces are unsigned, how do
*I* know?

I am pleased that Jackie has them !!
At least they are in 'our' side of the family... those who loved and adored
our g'aunt, who at the age of 60 learnt to speak English, so that she would
understand her nieces and nephews <g>
She was an amazing (Italian) lady.

Me too, thanks (((Jean))). I may have combined peri-menopause with
too much alcohol and gone straight into bitch-mode. I was torn
between angry and ashamed, but all is better now.

BTDT. Perimenopause is not nice at all (at least for some of
us). The worst is going into that mode, knowing you are in it,
and not being able to get yourself out of it.

My great aunt had an amazing life.... she was arrested and re-arrested many
times during WW2.... by the Germans, Italians, Allies, Germans again
.....LOLOL
She lived to be 4 days short of 100 and told us all it was only because she
never married <g>
She was and artist, pianist, linguist and wonderful aunt.. we called
"Ziella" a corruption of the Italian for 'little aunt'.
The Italian for aunt is 'Zia' Her name was Sylvia.
She wrote a diary which is fascinating.
