I understand your problem Leighann -- have been having a similar problem

there are probably hundreds of people out there. Keep yelling at them.

What hobbies or crafts do any of you have. I do gallery glass, which is
painting on glass so it looks like stained glass. I mostly give it away but
have on occasion sold some of it. I also decoupage cigar boxes with
wrapping paper and decorate them. I do lots of other stuff mostly artistic
or creative, like wreaths ,flower arrangements, and such. I also love
crossword puzzles and belong to a crossword club.

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born
in 1980.

They have no meaningful recollection of the Reagan era,
and did not know he had ever been shot.

They were prepubescent when the Persian Gulf War was waged.

Black Monday 1987 is as significant to them as the Great Depression.

There has only been one Pope. They can only really remember one
president.

They were 11 when the Soviet Union broke apart, and do not remember the
Cold War.
They have never feared a nuclear war. "The Day After" is a pill to them,
not a movie.

CCCP is just a bunch of letters.
They have only known one Germany.

They are too young to remember the Space shuttle blowing up, and Tienamin
Square means nothing to them.

They do not know who Omar Kadafi is.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
They never had a Polio shot, and likely, do not know what it is.

Bottle caps have not only always been screw off, but have always been
plastic.
They have no idea what a pull top can looks like.

Atari pre-dates them, as do vinyl albums.
The expression "you sound like a broken record" means nothing to them.
They have never owned a record Player.

They have likely never played Pac Man, and have never heard of Pong.

Star Wars" looks very fake and the special effects are pathetic.
There have always been Red M&M's, and Blue ones are not new.
"What do you mean there used to be beige ones?"

They may have heard of an 8-track, but chances are they probably have
never actually seen or heard one.
The Compact Disc was introduced when they were 1 year old.
They were born the year that Walkman were introduced by Sony.

As far as they know, stamps have always cost about 32 cents.
Zip codes have always had a dash in them.

They have always had an answering machine.
Most have never seen a TV set with only 13 channels, nor have they seen a
black and white TV.
They have always had cable.
There have always been VCR's, but they have no idea what Beta is.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Roller skating has always meant inline for them.

They have never heard of King Cola, Burger Chef, The Globe Democrat, Pan
AM or Ozark Airlines.

The Tonight Show has always been with Jay Leno.

They have no idea when or why Jordache jeans were cool.

Popcorn has always been cooked in a microwave.

They have never seen and remember a game that included the St. Louis
Football Cardinals, the Baltimore Colts, the Minnesota North Stars, the
Kansas City Kings, the New Orleans Jazz, The Minnesota Lakers, The
Atlanta Flames, or the Denver Rockies (NHL Hockey, that is).

They do not consider the Colorado Rockies, the Florida Marlins, The
Florida Panthers, The Ottawa Senators, the San Jose
Sharks, or the Tampa Bay Lightning "expansion teams".

They have never seen Larry Bird play, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a
Football player.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

The Vietnam War is as ancient history to them an WWI, WWII or even the
Civil War.

They have no idea that Americans were ever held hostage in Iran.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard the terms "Where's the beef?", "I'd Walk a mile for a
Camel", or "de plane, de plane!".
They do not care who shot J.R. and have no idea who J.R. is.

The Cosby Show, The Facts of Life, Silver Spoon, The Love Boat, Miami
Vice, WKRP in Cincinnati, and Taxi are shows they have likely never seen.

The Titanic was found? I thought we always knew where it was.

Michael Jackson has always been white.

They cannot remember the Cardinals ever winning a World Series, or even
being in one.

Kansas, Chicago, Boston, America, and Alabama are places, not groups.

McDonalds never came in Styrofoam containers.

Do you feel old now? Remember, the people who don't know these things
will be in college this year.

Hobbies? Gee... there are so darn many. White water canoeing (when it's
not 103°), archeology (when it not 103°), painting (not houses), historical
research, writing, reading.... I truly do not understand people who say
there is "nothing to do."

Do I have hobbies? Too many!...My favorite thing to do is draw and my
best work is a portrait I did of my son...I also drew all the pictures
for my husband's office and give drawings away as gifts...I also like to
watercolor...I go to Jazzercise 5 times a week and love it...I make
jewlery and dolls and right now I'm painting an acrylic mural in our
bedroom...I like to read, read, read, almost anything I can get my hands

I have been doing Genealogy since 1979. I have slowed down in the last few
years. I was president of our genealogical society for 2 years.
I love to read and I am a history nut. I take a camera with me everywhere I go
and take pictures. Just between us I hate my new advantax (sp) camera. It cost
me over 40.00 to develop two rolls of film with double prints. That was the 1
hour processing It may be cheaper if I send them off.

Besides our love of chocolate, we have a few things in common! I do
wreaths and flower arrangements (mostly because ones already made are so
durned expensive!)

I love crosswords and word games. - also jigsaw puzzles. Neither are
creative or artistic, but I do cross stitch. I used to do tole painting
and, I love to paint ceramics. The cross stitch and painting are very
relaxing. I don't do much of anything now that I've discovered the
computer!

I don't see why not, as long as you enjoy it.

My number one hobby (based on the amount of time and effort I put into it)
is Toastmasters. I also love to read (mostly mysteries), like word puzzles,

I piggyback here as I didn't get the original message!
I think that when you do something you like, it becomes a
hobby. So why not berry picking and jam making! I can join
you there Norma!
I have so many things I like doing, but they seem to be
seasonal. I do not have the same hobbies in autumn and
winter as in spring and summer.
I love knitting, but only in autumn and winter.
The only thing I do all through the year is reading and ...
guess what? Sitting here with my computer!
'Toastmasters' are you doing this as an official hobby, Joy?

It's similar to Boggle. You get a grid with rows of squares containing
letters. You have to form words with connecting letters while you race
against the computer and the clock. Challenging but fun.

An old man hurt his back and could no longer work.
He said to his wife "I have supported you for 35 years, it is about time you
started supporting me".
His wife says "what can I do" ?........"I am an old lady".
He says "you can be a prostitute".
She says "OK, I will try".
She gets all dressed up (with 7" heels) and goes out.
Three days later, she comes home.
Her husband asks "how did you make out" ?
She says "GOOD", I made $320.25.
He says "Twenty five cents !!!!!
Who was the cheap SOB, who gave you 25 cents ?
She said "they all did".

That if phunny! I had to print this one off, give to my BH. He is very good
at telling jokes. One thing is remembering them and of course the way you
tell them. He had to LOL when I gave this to him.

WordZap is somewhat similar to Boggle (but better) or
Scrabble (but a lot faster). You play the computer,
which becomes a better player as you do. By looking
at the words the computer makes, you can learn better
strategies. If you and the computer make the same
word, it is ZAPPED. With the Win95 version you can
play friends over the internet. You can find WordZap
at http://www.wordzap.com
