I have a Trish #43 and it's the only foundation brush I own right now. How
often should I clean it and with what? I want to use Dr. Bronner's soap, but
I've been told that different bristles need different cleansers and I can't for
the life of me remember what needs what!

AIR this is a synthetic brush and could be washed with almost anything.
Foundation brushes seem to need to be cleaned more often than others since
the foundation can go rancid on the brush. Smell the brush and you can
tell. Just be careful to dry the painted handle and let the brush dry lying
down. rjudith

This is the only brush that I would wash every time I use it-that and
concealer brushes.

Absolutely agreed. Beyond being less than hygenic, if you have dried product
build-up on foundation or concealer brushes it's going to cause
less-than-smooth application. I don't use a foundation brush but do apply
concealer with a brush and it gets washed after each use. (If frequently
pressed for time it helps to keep a spare brush so you will always have a clean
one handy.)

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make foundation brushes work but
when I was still attempting to work with them (I now have Paula Dorf's and
Smashbox's), I did wash it every time. Used plain old Olay bar soap.
