What's the difference between the #11 and the others?

Mmmm... I have always loved those Shamrock shakes ever since I was
little. My dad would get me one every St. Paddy's day or the weekend
thereof when I was like four years old up until I was about eleven.
They're definitely not as thick and good as in the 70's, but I agree.
They rock! (MickeyD's uses frozen yogurt in their shakes now, so they
are not as thick anymore, which is a bummer...)

Mmmmmm, Shamrock Shakes! Have you ever had them fix you a shake that is half
chocolate and half "shamrock" - then you mix it up? It is petty delish!

Okay, this is so embarrassing, but I waited for two hours yesterday to buy one
of the Paul Frank Hello Kitty bags. I knew the Paul Frank store was getting a
limited number of pieces in and my original plan was to go right when the store
opened, but I though I should check it out earlier, in case other people were
as crazy as I was. They were. There was already a small line. so I scuttled my
breakfast plans, grabbed a book and sat on the sidewalk for two hours until the
store opened. How pathetic is that? I did get my bag, though! So adorable! The
bad news is that waiting in line for two hours puts you in a bit of a buying
frenzy and I ended up buying the make-up bag, coin purse and smaller handbag,
as well - which was NOT in my original plan. I see an e-bay sale in my future
and everything's keeping its tags and living in plastic wrappers until I figure
it all out.

The large bag is rectangular with a shoulder strap and is a light lilac color
with a picture of Julius the monkey and Hello Kitty riding a blue Vespa scooter
though a pastel toned city. It's adorable. Unlike a lot of Paul Frank stuff,
it's a printed picture - not cut outs. The small bag and the coin purse are
lemon yellow with Julius and Hello Kitty building a dog house together, the
make up bag is also rectangular and is sky blue and Julius and Hello Kitty are
playing tennis. There's also a cd carrier which I somehow refrained from buying
- it's round and lavender and the duo are ice skating. Some of these are on
e-bay right now, so you can see pictures of them there.

I'm guessing that the large bag sold out right away at that particular store
because they only got 25 or so in, and there were that many people in line by
the time the store opened up. They limited us to one of each item (thereby
thwarting my plan to get one for a friend). I don't know which other stores are
carrying this line - but it might be worth calling around. Someone in line said
Nordstrom's was getting them, and she seemed to be incredibly well-informed
about all things Paul Frank-related. They are showing up on e-bay, too.

You are gonna love your gel liner. I have used it everyday since I got
it and I love what it does for my eyes. Lately, I have been using it
with the BB sparkledust in Violet (also gorgeous) on the lid, and either
Stila poise (a deep plum) or BB Eggplant shimmer (more blue in this than
in the poise) in the crease. Really is a beautiful eye look.

What color eyes do you have? I have the Sepia liner and I love it. The
voilet looks so pretty. I don't have time to use it every day, but I love
how it looks and it's so easy to use.

Ooooh, I have eggplant shimmer. I can't wait to try it. What do you use for
the all over shadow?

Hey JennP.!

I have brown eyes (dark), and though the Violet is very dark on me
(though if I use a softer liner brush, I can get the color to be much
lighter), I find that it is that perfect alternative to the Sepia Ink or
the Black Ink. When I use the eggplant shimmer, I have been using the
new ColorOptions Sparkledust in Violet all over the lid and the Eggplant
in the crease and on the outer third of my lid. Then I use the Violet
Sparkledust on my browbone and I apply just a light dusting over the
center of my lid. I also use the Eggplant to line under my eye when I
want a smoky-eyed look. I find that, for me, the smoky eye looks much
more pretty when done with purples rather than black/dark brown.

Sorry, Sophie, I died laughing reading this. Sure, that's it, uh-huh. It is
March 5 -- there are 26 more shopping days (and today isn't even over!) in the
month. Only under extreme duress could a true afer avoid buying something in

I have blue green eyes so I think the purple liner should set off the green.
That Sparkledust sounds so pretty. I am going back to the mall this week
anyway..................

I also prefer a smoky eye on me done in color rather than black. Black liner
and me don't mix.

New glasses (the whole works).... although it will be week after next
before I get them.

The non-technical term for my visual condition is "blind as a bat."
(Myopic, presbyopic, and astigmatic all at the same time: three ICD9
codes.)

My optometrist pointed out that Varilux would be much more effective
if I didn't have glasses that were as wide from top to bottom as my
present ones. So, the optician looked at what I had on and came back
with three possibilities.... she hit the nail on the head.

All of them were great, but I decided to go with the neutral gray ones
as they tend to match everything.

I think I'm going to have to spend the next month looking at things
because I'm too poor to do anything else. <grin/duck>

From Sephora:

*Cynthia Rowley Lipstick in #29 (maroon-brown w/gold shimmer)
*Cynthia Rowley Face Color with Brush in EX02 (neutral quad w/bone, peach,
mauve, and brown)
*Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Fresher

The Cynthia Rowley line is brand new to the Honolulu Sephora, and TOTALLY
irresistible. The line is made in Japan and packaged in frosted blue
containers adorned with etched snowflakes, "Cynthia Rowley" in adorable
script, and a single blue rhinestone. Lots of unique products, including
the Face Color that comes with a twist-up brush in a lipstick-type tube.
The Face Color is a mirrored compact with a pan divided into four sections.
The quad I chose had all matte neutral colors. I think there were 3 other
color combos. Imprinted diagonally onto the pan of shadows is the quotation
"I love how pretty, pretty, you are!" So cute. The line also had powder
foundations, liquid foundations (including one that was just a translucent
shimmer with no tint), eyeshadows, lipsticks, glosses (cute packaging, but
very sticky), blushes, lipsticks, eyeshadow trios (packaged similarly to the
Hard Candy quads), and nail polishes. All in the gorgeous frosted blue
packaging, and totally irresistible. Lipsticks were $16, foundations ran
around $30, and the Face Color was $35.

From Macy's:
*Clarins Fleur de Teint Summer Face Powder

Inspired by the threads on bronzers, I was on the hunt for a nice new
bronzer. I spotted this awesome compact first at Sephora, but it was sold
out there so I had to head to Macy's. This is my first Clarins product, and
I love it! Comes in a red brushed metallic compact. The bronzer pan itself
is square with a deep raised flower print. The background is a lighter
bronze, the leaves of the flower are a darker bronze, and the center of the
flower is a bright gold. All are shimmery. Looks super luxurious.
According to the description on the box, "[t]his lightweight and silky-soft
compact powder with a raised flower motif evens the complexion and delivers
a luminous, radiant, sun-kissed finish. Anti-pollution protection." A
unique product!

From Guess:
*A-line denim mini skirt

Okay, you have NO idea how hard it is to find a plain, a-line denim
mini-skirt! No fancy wash, no hipsters, no "waistless", just plain jane
denim skirt. Finally spotted one at Guess this evening and snapped it up
right away.
