Hello,

I have been using the same two round hairbrushes for years. One is
larger than the other. I assume they are high quality, because I
bought them in a salon. I have long, very fine, very straight, color
treated hair. I usually use some product after washing, either
kiehl's silk groom, redken glowtrix, or thermasilk condition and
control cream...all thick, creamy prducts that make my hair smooth and
bulk it up a little bit. I usually blow dry upside down until almost
dry, then use one of these brushes as I finish the blow drying. I've
never been dissatisfied or anything...but then something strange
happened...

I recently bought a tiny pink Conair hairbrush at CVS to keep in my
purse. I think it was $1.99. It has an oval head with two kinds of
bristles...skinny white ones with little balls on the end, and fine
pink ones that are clustered around the white ones and shorter than
the white ones. It looks like the bristles are embedded in a white
cusion, but when you touch the white cushion, it has virtually no
"give."

This brush makes my hair look better and feel softer than ever. I
cannot believe that a brush, let alone this little cheap thing, can
make such a difference. It seriously smooths the cuticle and gives
the same silkiness and shinyness of using the above mentioned
products...when I'm *not* using these products. It even makes my hair
look smooth when I haven't blown it dry, which is unprecedented.
Whatever shape my hair is in, this brush just totally smooths it out.

I kind of want to try many different brushes now, now that I see the
difference using a different brush can make!!

Wanted to share in case anyone is in a rut...maybe try a new brush!
Or if you see this little Conair brush, give it a try and let me know
whether it makes a difference for you.

This is soooo true. I am always rotating brushes, depending on what stage
my hair is in....just cut, grown out a few weeks, in need of a cut, etc. I
go from a round paddle brush to a roll/round vented brush.

Still I manage to end up with weird "bumps" in my hair due to lack of
styling skills!

Bingo! I have a couple of very expensive Mason Pearson brushes and a couple
super-cheap Vidal Sassoon brushes that I got at Walmart. The MP brushes are
boar bristles plus a few nylon bristles mounted in a rubber domed setting.
The VS brushes are made of some sort of probably-faux bristles plus nylon
set in rubber. The VS brushes are much kinder, less scratchy than the MP
brushes. The MP brushes cost approximately 10 times as much!

Definitely a ymmv item!
