I don't wear neon or orange, but brown and beige are staples in my wardrobe.
My staples are:

beige, taupe, brown, black, ice blue ( when I can find it), grey, white and
cream. I have a couple of pieces in red, some pastels and blues, but I
pretty much stick to the formula above so I know that I'll match, at least.
I have more colors in my accessories, like a turquoise necklace or a bright
green scarf, but I'm pretty conservative in clothing colors.

Amen back at ya! I'm actually looking forward to getting some
silver in mine. I think the silver-plus-ash-blonde hair look
is great. I fantasize about living to 90 years old, at which
time I'll keep my hair in a long thick silvery blonde braid going
down my back. And besides, once I have some identifiable gray, people
will stop asking me where I get my bleach job done! And I look
good in jewel tones, too, especially emerald green and deep turquoise.

I'm a natural redhead (not a carrot top redhead though)
I adore just about any shade of blue...

Blue - bright, electric blue. Never fails to make my eyes stand out. Also,
Maroon, burgundy, wine colors too. I tend to stay with earthy colors, though
-browns, grays, muted greens. If I have any really bright colors in my
wardrobe, they are blue and red. I have reddish-brown hair, paler than pale
skin, freckles, bright/dark blue eyes.

The one I feel great in has always been black... I'm sure it's because it makes
me feel chic and grownup.. always appropriate. A security blanket color for
sure.. I rely on it for many occasions. I'm not certain I look the best in
it... but I like it. At the moment, I get the most compliments when wearing
white and pastels.

A jewel-toned shade halfway between blue and green--the gold standard ;)
Jewel tones in general look good on me, especially blues and purples. And
of course, I have a lot of black. ;)

Well, I think black, and jewel tones (I especially love deep red,
purple, blue, and green on the bluer side). Generally I get the most
compliments when wearing blue, deep red, purple, and fuschia. I don't
really like fuschia clothes, but I'll wear a fuschia-ish lisptick with
all black, it looks really nice.

I have black hair, dark brown eyes, pale (lightest shade in most
foundations) olivey-toned skin.

Black, black and black.

When I wear something in another color and then the
next day put black back on, I realize how much better
I look in black.

Tonight I'm wearing black (Eileen Fisher suit) out to
dinner with something not black:

My new Hermes scarf (anniversary present). It's called
Jungle Love and has tigers on it and other jungle animals,
lovely wine border.

Really the most beautiful thing in the world!

those are the shades I tend to wear most often

I love black too and I also wear a lot of red. I was born a white blond but
now my hair is a medium brown. I have olive skin and brown, and sometimes very
green eyes. They are never really a hazel, either one or the other. I also
like light blue.

Black. Because I have naturally blonde hair, and the older

Apparently the colors that look good on me look like death on everyone else and
vice-versa! My best colors are brown, creamy ivory, bronze/copper, burnt
orange/cinnamon/nutmeg, mustardy yellow-golds, etc., certain shades of olive
green, very warm dusty (but not pastel) blues.

I look awful in black, red, white, pink, most blues, purple, all pastels, etc.

Brown is "my" black. It's the basic color that I build up from, and the color
that I always fall back on when I can't decide what other color to try. It's the
color I look best in, and the one that makes me feel most confident.

Unfortunately, it means I can mostly only shop for clothes in the Fall. :p

Deep lilac and then orange - by all conventions orange is not my color -
NW15, freckles, can be ruddy, gray eyes with gold flecks and Swedish blonde
hair. To me personality enters into this and I just can not dress all in
black very often. At my last job, my assistant would always say she could
tell when I was in a bad mood since I'd be wearing black. rjudith

I get compliments on: aqua, celadon, burgundy, and carnation (medium warm)
pink. There really aren't too many colors I won't wear -- the ones I
generally avoid are royal blue, fuschia (I do have one tank top in this
color though: I guess I don't hate it as much as I used to), salmon, gold,
mustard and brownish shades when they're near my face.

Strangely enough, orange brings the most compliments. I have a 3 piece short set
in orange, --excuse me, persimmon I imagine they called it at the time-- and many
have said "That's your color."
White I can wear, but off white is better.
Have dark brown with grey hair, hazel eyes, real peachy complexion. Autumn was by
"type".
I can get away with just about anything, except grey which does nada.

Wow, that's it, that's my list of perfect colours/awful colours! I'm a
natural blonde with red (well, more orange) hightlights, green eyes and pale
skin (with more freckles than is good for it), and all of those autumn
colours are perfect. Finally someone else on AF that doesn't wear white
(and black?)!

Julie.
