The esthetician who gave me the facial Friday said she thinks MAC
causes blemishes in the teen girls she sees. Any other opinions?

I looked for this issue at the store today but it wasn't on the shelf.
I am excited that it has come out because I hope to buy it before the
weekend and study it prior to my next shopping trip. Thank you.

It's been a looooong time since I was a teen,
but this studio fix causes all sorts of trouble every time I pull it out. Which
makes me really sad, as I have not found a better color match in a powder
foundation.

Thanks girlyfied for taking the time and energy to post this terrific list!
I've printed it out and look forward to trying some unfamiliar products!

Girlified, let me add my thanks to Blushun's. That was a lot of typing!
I'm going to save it as a file and with some luck, download it into my
Handspring Visor to bring shopping with me.

:Face- Foundations, Powders:

:7. Stick Foundation

:Bobbi Brown *Hall of Fame*

Overpriced, clearly overrated... try L'Oreal's Quickstick foundation. The
stuff is really great. And very cheap.

:8. Powder Foundation

:Mac Studio Fix *Two-time winner*

I rarely have any acne, but this stuff made me break out when I used it on a
regular basis. I only use this in the evening, on rare occassions, now.

:16. Powder for Dry Skin

:Prescriptives Magic Liquid *Two-time winner*

When am I going to get off my lazy butt and try this stuff?

:
:Face- Bronzers, Blushes:

:20. Powder Blush
:Nars

Yaayy! The only powder blush I use.

:
:21. Cream Blush

:Stila Convertible Color *Three-time winner*

The editors clearly have never tried L'Oreal Quickstick blush... now
discontinued. This stuff was so fabulous. Creamy, dried down to a lovely
powder finish... nice, natural looking colors, stayed on all day... I could
on for hours. Silly L'Oreal for discontinuing this... Replace silly with
"Damn to hell." ;)

:23. Stain Blush
:Benefit Benetint *Two-time winner*

I just couldn't get the hang of this one.

:
:Face- Cleansers, Toners, Scrubs:
:
:31. Face Makeup Remover

:Pond's Cleansing Towletts *Three-time winner*

I have to agree that these are the best of the cleansing towelettes that
I've tried... have any of you tried the Stila or MAC ones?

:
:Face- Treatments, Lotions, Creams
:
:
:35. Facial Moisturizer for Dry Skin
:La Mer *Three-time winner*

Yaay! I definitely agree with this one.

:37. Nighttime Moisturizer
:Creme de la Mer

Yaayy again!

:
:47. Blotting Papers
:Mac Blot Film

Yes? No? AF?

:Eyes- Pencils, Shadows, Mascaras, Tools:
:
:48. Pencil Eyeliner
:Chanel

I agree Chanel makes excellent pencils, but there are definitely some low
cost alternatives.
:
:51. Eye Shadow
:Stila

Great shadows, yes. Would I call them the best, the most exciting, etc.? No.

:
:52. Inexpensive Eye Shadow
:L'Oreal

Yes, for a cheap treat. Although the paler shades come off your lids in
seconds flat.

:
:Lips- Balms, Liners, Colors, Glosses
:
:62. Overall Lipstick
:Nars

Yaay! I completely agree.

:
:63.Long-Wearing Lipstick
:Max Factor Lipfinity

Yes, this stuff certainly does not wear off... but are there ANY warm shades
in the collection?! And warm shades that are *not* poo-brown.

:
:65. Lip Pencil
:Mac *Hall of Fame*

Nice pencils, but again, there are better, cheaper alternatives. The first
that comes to mind is L'Oreal's automatic liner... what's it called? Anyway,
great liner.

:
:66. Clear Gloss
:Mac Lipglass *Four-time winner*

Yes, agreed, although Chanel's "Glaze" runs a close second.
:
:68. Lip Balm

:Kiehl's Lip Balm No. 1 *Hall of Fame*

I think that Baby Balm is ever so much better.
:
:
:Hair- Shampoos
:

:71. Inexpensive Overall Shampoo
:Pantene Pro-V

YES. This stuff is FABULOUS. I will never buy a more expensive shampoo.
:
:
:Hair- Tools
:
:96.Blow-Dryer
:Supersolano *Four-time winner*

Any opinions on this?
:
:101. Ponytail Holders
:Blax *Three-time winner*

Have never even seen this brand... can somebody elaborate?

:103. Flat Brush

:Mason Pearson *Hall of Fame*

Worth the splurge?

:Nails- Polishes, Care

:
:107. Overall Nail Polish Line (Two Winners)
:OPI *Hall of Fame*
:Essie *Three-time winner*

Agreed on both.

:
:110. Quick-Dry Nail Polish
:Revlon Super Top Speed

I think Maybelline's Express Finish chips much less easily.
:
:Body- Lotions, Creams, Oils

:

girlyfied, you rule. I love buying InStyle but it's always late in my 'hood.
Also, it would've take me about a day and a half to type all of that.
Thanks!

Yeah, I used Epicuren for a while just to see what the fuss was about. I know
there are people who swear by it so I can only speak to my own experience. My
skin isn't sensitive at all and I broke out into cystic acne. I've never in my
life had blemishes like this, before or since. The lady who sold it to me told
me to wait it out. I'm not a "wait it out" kind of gal when it comes to
skincare, especially when it's giving me acne.

Other than that, there weren't many surprises. I wish they would include more
obscure products. I thought it was fun that they included Jing Jang Cream (not
that I've used it) because it's not very well known. The rest of the list was
sort of a snooze, IMO.

I'm in the We-Hate-StudioFix club too! However, I've had wonderful success
with MAC's Sheer Coverage Foundation, which comes in a great see-through
compact. The texture and coverage reminds me of Trish McEvoy's Cream
Foundation.

Ah, thank you. I think we have something similiar that I've tried... like
little rubber bands, but they're supposed to be "ouch-less." Well, they're
freakin' not! And they don't hold my hair up worth a damn, but admittedly, I
have pretty thick, heavy hair.

Here are my thoughts on the products I've tried:

> 1. Liquid Foundation
> Mac Face and Body

I rarely wear this. Sometimes it works well. Most days it's quite orange and
a bit cakey.

> 2. Inexpensive Foundation
> L'Oreal Translucide

Yuck

> 3. Oil-Free Foundation
> Laura Mercier *Two-time winner*

I like this for use during winter. However, it's very thick and must be
mixed with a bit of water to get an even finish.

> 5. Foundation for Dark Skin
> Bobbi Brown

Nice shade range for the yellow-toned. The formula is pretty standard
though.

> 7. Stick Foundation
> Bobbi Brown *Hall of Fame*

I like this for use as a concealer. It works well for my normal skin.

> 8. Powder Foundation
> Mac Studio Fix *Two-time winner*

I can only wear this if applied using a kabuki brush. It looks too powdery
otherwise.

> 9. Tinted Moisturizer
> Laura Mercier *Two-time winner*

This was a favorite of mine until I discovered Olay Tinted Moisturizer.

> 11. Blemish Concealer
> Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage *Four-time winner*

Excellent coverage, but too hard to mix.

> 14. Loose Powder
> T. LeClerc *Hall of Fame*

I love these, but they don't nearly enough attention in my daily routine. I
should use them more.

> 16. Powder for Dry Skin
> Prescriptives Magic Liquid *Two-time winner*

This was fun at first. The novelty wore off quickly. I can't remember the
last time I picked this up.

> 20. Powder Blush
> Nars
Some of the best powder blushes ever! I love all the ones I have and use
them quite regularly. Sheer, natural looking color.

> 21. Cream Blush
> Stila Convertible Color *Three-time winner*

Eh... They're ok.

> 22. Gel Blush
> Tarte
I like the colors and sheerness. I just wish they were less sticky.

> 23. Stain Blush
> Benefit Benetint *Two-time winner*

Sonia Kashuk Lip/Cheek Tint is a superior product, IMO.

> 25. Overall Makeup Brush Line
> Shu Uemura *Hall of Fame*

Gorgeous Brushes. They're actually less expensive than some of the other MA
lines.

> 26. Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin
> Cetaphil *Four-time winner*

Slimy. I hate the texture of this stuff.

> 28. Alcohol-Free Toner
> Kiehl's

I didn't find these to be all that great.

> 29. Astringent
> Kiehl's Blue *Three-time winner*

This is quite strong. If your skin is sensitive in the slightest, it will
burn.

> 30. Facial Scrub
> Labortoire Remede Sweep *Three-time winner*

I like this, but prefer PTR's Botanical Buffing Beads to this one.

> 31. Face Makeup Remover
> Pond's Cleansing Towletts *Three-time winner*

Long time favorite. These clean quickly and easily without much fragrance.
Another good option are Cosmence Cleansing Wipes.

> 33. Inexpensive Overall Facial Moisturizer
> Olay

Complete UV makes a good sunscreen. Total Effects didn't do much for me. I
can't stand the original liquid.

> 35. Facial Moisturizer for Dry Skin
> La Mer *Three-time winner*

Agreed!

> 37. Nighttime Moisturizer
> Creme de la Mer

Agreed!

> 43. Luminizing LOtion
> Prescriptives Magic Illuminating Liquid Potion

I prefer Vibrant to this product.

> 46. Facial Mask for Oily Skin
> Origins Clear Improvement

Really cleans out the pores. QH does as a good a job for less money though.

> 47. Blotting Papers
> Mac Blot Film

These are exactly the same as Clean and Clear's only gray. IIRC, the film
itself is made by 3M and there's no real variation from product to product.

> 48. Pencil Eyeliner
> Chanel
These are one of the few brands that doesn't tug the skin around my eye.
They go on quite smoothly.

> 50. Powder Eyeliner
> Trish McEvoy Definer *Three-time winner*

These have serious pigment! They make excellent liners. They work well even
without water or a sealant.

> 51. Eye Shadow
> Stila
Agreed.

> 52. Inexpensive Eye Shadow
> L'Oreal

Most L'Oreal colors don't really last on me. But they're cheap and fun to
play with.

> 57. Overall Mascara
> Lancome Definicils *Two-time winner*

It's nice, but not remarkable.

> 58. Waterproof Mascara
> Maybelline Great Las Waterproof *Two-time winner*

This works if I only apply one coat. So, it's pointless really.

> 59. Makeup Remover
> Lancome Bi-Facil *Three-time winner*

My Holy Grail eye makeup remover.

> 60. Tweezers
> Tweezerman *Hall of Fame*
I love the painless tweezers.

> 62. Overall Lipstick
> Nars
Agreed. Dolce Vita and Pigalle are staples.

> 63.Long-Wearing Lipstick
> Max Factor Lipfinity

I hate the color selection. Once I figured out the application, it wore
quite well.

> 64. Most Versatile Lipstick Shade
> Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey *Two-time winner*

Agreed.

> 65. Lip Pencil
> Mac *Hall of Fame*

Yes. I use a number of Mac lip pencils.

> 66. Clear Gloss
> Mac Lipglass *Four-time winner*

I like this, but hardly use it.

> 68. Lip Balm
> Kiehl's Lip Balm No. 1 *Hall of Fame*

Nice, but kind of oily.

> 70. Terax *Two-time winner*
I go back and forth on this one.

> 71. Inexpensive Overall Shampoo
> Pantene Pro-V

Very creamy and works great for dry hair.

> 78. Overall Conditioner
> Terax Crema *Hall of Fame*

I liked this one until I noticed it was thinning my hair. I haven't used any
since.

> 92. Frizz Controller
> John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum *Hall of Fame*

I had forgotten how much I like this stuff. Must repurchase soon.

> 107. Overall Nail Polish Line (Two Winners)
> OPI *Hall of Fame*
> Essie *Three-time winner*

Agreed.

> 109. Top Coat
> Seche Vite *Hall of Fame*

Agreed.

> 110. Quick-Dry Nail Polish
> Revlon Super Top Speed

Agreed.

> 114. Nail Polish Remover
> Cutex *Two-time winner*

I find it to be kind of drying.

> 115. Overall Body Lotion
> Kiehl's Creme de Corps *Three-time winner*

Good product.

> 116. Inexpensive Body Lotion
> Lubriderm *Three-time winner*

It's ok. Not the best at all.

> 117. Heavy-Duty Lotion
> The Body Shop Body Butter

Nut Body Butter in particular. Smells good and moisturizes like crazy.

> 118. Hand Cream
> L'Occitane *Two-time winner*

Agreed.

> 119. Foot Cream
> The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion *Two-time winner*

Soothing, but not moisturizing.

> 121. Body Oil
> Neutrogena *Four-time winner*

Nice pleasant scent. Moisturizes without being overly greasy.

> 123. Bath/Shower Gel
> Kiehl's Liquid Body Cleanser

Coriander is a staple for me.

> 124. Body Scrub
> Origins Body Scrubs *Two-time winner*

I like the scent of the Salt Rub, but it can be a bit too harsh for my skin.

> 128. Razor
> Gilette Mach 3 *Three-time winner*

Agreed.

> 131. Oil-Free Sunscreen
> Peter Thomas Roth *Two-time Winner*

The gel sunscreen is soooo good for summer. It feels like you're wearing
nothing and isn't oily at all.

> -Ruby & Millie Cosmetics
Only tried a couple of lipglosses. They were pretty standard, but the colors
are gorgeous.

> -Max Factor SK-II Skin Care

This broke me out pretty badly.

> 5. Prescriptives Traceless Foundation
Love it! Already moved to the staples pile.

> 6. Giorgio Armani Cosmetics
Currently test driving Luminous Skin Foundation. So far, it has worked
great. Makes my skin look flawless and glowing. I get a number of
compliments on my skin when I wear it.

That's funny they rate Revlon so high. I'm on a quest for a maroon nail
polish. I tried Revlon's Vixen and I think this could be it but I *really*
hate the brush. The bristles are all splayed out, making it so easy for me
to get polish all over my skin. Plus, after having worn OPI for a while
now, any other polish just looks blah. OPI is so shiny and rich looking.

Did I just have bad luck with this one Revlon brush or are they all weird?

i agree. it looks like an allure list from five years ago, peppered with a
few "new" things, like cle de peau, just so we think they are paying
attention.
for example, studiofix??? blech! sure, it was a great early powder
foundation, but as many have noted here, it's practically unwearable. it
would have been more fun had they taken the time to see what's new in powder
foundations, which have come a long way since studiofix, and shared *that*
news with us. (like we wouldn't have already known it here, but still)
of course, that would have entailed actual reporting, not to mention
potentially pissing of advertisers.
(pantene?? badescu drying lotion?? excuse me??)

***and thank you very much for typing this list, girlyfied!!**

I do have several items in this list but there are many I haven't

and why? My skin is medium olive and tans easily. I have very thick
short brown hair with blonde highlights. My eyes are brown with flecks
of gold. I'd love someone to tell me to buy more Shu brushes but

My thoughts on products I've tried:

> 2. Inexpensive Foundation
> L'Oreal Translucide
Eww, this is horrible! I tried the lightest (and what I thought was the
most yellow shade too) and it was cakey and too pink.

> 3. Oil-Free Foundation
> Laura Mercier *Two-time winner*
This one is nice, but I much prefer Illuminare!

> 4. Foundation for Sensitive Skin
> Neutrogena Healthy Skin

This was okay. It didn't last that well and caked up a bit.

> 8. Powder Foundation
> Mac Studio Fix *Two-time winner*

I like this, and think the newer formula is sheerer and better for
acne-prone skin. However, I know it's not the greatest foundation for oily
skin based on AF reviews. :P

> 11. Blemish Concealer
> Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage *Four-time winner*

This one is good, but it's not the best when you want to save time!

> 12. Pressed Powder
> Lancome
This is nice, but I prefer Stila's.

> 16. Powder for Dry Skin
> Prescriptives Magic Liquid *Two-time winner*

I like this and I should use it more often, but I've really been loving
Clinique Gentle Light right now!

> 20. Powder Blush
> Nars
I actually agree! Sin is my favorite blush of all time!

> 21. Cream Blush
> Stila Convertible Color *Three-time winner*

These are nice, but they are hard to apply, at least for me.

> 22. Gel Blush
> Tarte
I love this! I just wish it didn't taste horrible when I use it on my lips.

> 23. Stain Blush
> Benefit Benetint *Two-time winner*

I like this one too. It's great for a natural glow.

> 26. Facial Cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin
> Cetaphil *Four-time winner*

My favorite!!!

> 28. Alcohol-Free Toner
> Kiehl's

Yes, I like the Cucumber Toner (not sure if this is alcohol-free) which is
wonderful for sensitive skin.

> 29. Astringent
> Kiehl's Blue *Three-time winner*

I didn't like this. It didn't do anything for my skin and was much too
harsh.

> 33. Inexpensive Overall Facial Moisturizer
> Olay

I agree, and I prefer Olay Total Effects!

> 35. Facial Moisturizer for Dry Skin
> La Mer *Three-time winner*

Agree again!

> 37. Nighttime Moisturizer
> Creme de la Mer

Yes, for dry skin or for areas that are dry and flaky.

> 38. Inexpensive Nighttime Moisturizer
> Olay *Two-time winner*

Again, I agree. I use Olay Total Effects, as stated previously.

> 51. Eye Shadow
> Stila
Hands down!!

> 52. Inexpensive Eye Shadow
> L'Oreal

I like L'Oreal too, but also like Revlon wet/dry.

> 57. Overall Mascara
> Lancome Definicils *Two-time winner*

I don't think it's the best, but it's nice anyway. My favorites are
Maybelline Full and Soft and MAC Pro Lash.

>
> 58. Waterproof Mascara
> Maybelline Great Las Waterproof *Two-time winner*

I haven't tried the waterproof version but felt the regular version was very
nice, but it gave me racoon eyes. Hopefully the waterproof doesn't do that.

>
> 59. Makeup Remover
> Lancome Bi-Facil *Three-time winner*

Yes, I like this a lot for when I want to remove waterproof mascara.

>
> 60. Yweezers
> Tweezerman *Hall of Fame*

I like Tweezerman slant and also like Rubis.

>
> 61. Eyelash Curler
> Shu Uemura *Hall of Fame*

I agree!

>
> Lips- Balms, Liners, Colors, Glosses
>
> 62. Overall Lipstick
> Nars

I like Nars, especially Dolce Vita.

>
> 63.Long-Wearing Lipstick
> Max Factor Lipfinity

I disagree. It didn't last that well on me, and the color selection is not
that great.

>
> 64. Most Versatile Lipstick Shade
> Clinique Almost Lipstick Black Honey *Two-time winner*

Yes, this is a very nice color and works with everything. I used up two
tubes of this several years ago, but it just doesn't last very long (hence
using up a tube so quickly due to reapplying so frequently!).

> 65. Lip Pencil
> Mac *Hall of Fame*

I like MAC, but really like Paula Dorf and EL automatic since they are
softer and easier to use.

>
> 66. Clear Gloss
> Mac Lipglass *Four-time winner*

I agree! Makes my lips so shiny, but it's sticky so it's best not to use on
a windy day when hair can stick to your lips!

> 68. Lip Balm
> Kiehl's Lip Balm No. 1 *Hall of Fame*

I agree. It's perfect for immediate relief, but I wish it stayed on my lips
longer.

> Hair- Shampoos
>
> 70. Terax *Two-time winner*

I like Terax Miele and Latte shampoos.

> Hair: Conditioners, Colors
>
> 78. Overall Conditioner
> Terax Crema *Hall of Fame*

I didn't like this. It didn't condition and moisturize my dry and
frizz-prone hair that well. I prefer Back to Basics Raspberry Almond
Intensive conditioner and Sebastian Potion 9.

> 90. Shine Enhancer
> Sebastian Laminates *Hall of Fame*

Hands down!! I've been using the Laminates Gel for about 10 years and every
other shine product I've tried since then just doesn't compare!

> 92. Frizz Controller
> John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum *Hall of Fame*

This is nice, but I still prefer Laminates Gel!

> 98. Flatiron
> Solano Sapphire *Four-time winner*

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm just dying to!! I'm using the Hot Tools
one and while it's very good, I can imagine that this is much better,
especially since it has an attached comb to aid in easier straightening.

This chips quickly, but it sure dries fast and the color selection is good.

> 114. Nail Polish Remover

This is the best heavy lotion without a "scent".

> 117. Heavy-Duty Lotion
> The Body Shop Body Butter

I love these! Nut Butter and Cocoa Butter are both awesome!

> 118. Hand Cream
> L'Occitane *Two-time winner*

This is nice, but I feel that the less expensive Pre de Provence version is
the same.

The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion *Two-time winner*

> 121. Body Oil
> Neutrogena *Four-time winner*

I really like this too!

> 124. Body Scrub
> Origins Body Scrubs *Two-time winner*

I love the salt scrub!

> 128. Razor
> Gilette Mach 3 *Three-time winner*

I prefer the Venus razor which is easier to use.

This one is nice, but I feel other brands are better like Pola 1/f Suncut
Milk.

Wow, thanks so much!! I don't usually read InStyle - are these reader picks or
editor picks?

> 2. Inexpensive Foundation
> L'Oreal Translucide

I really love the finish of this, but they don't have a shade that works for me. :(

> 6. Compact Foundation
> Shu Uemura Nobara Cream *Four-time winner*

Oooh, I may have to look for this. I wonder how it compares to my new favorite
compact, CG Aquasmooth?

> 8. Powder Foundation
> Mac Studio Fix *Two-time winner*

I still haven't tried this - and won't based on AF feedback! Olay Complete
Radiance powder foundation was my holy grail. Sigh.

> 16. Powder for Dry Skin
> Prescriptives Magic Liquid *Two-time winner*

Ooh, now I've gotta check this one out.

> Face- Bronzers, Blushes:
>
> 17. Bronzing Powder

I adore my Rimmel bronzing powder, and I bet it cost about 1/20th as much as the
Guerlain!

> 36. Moisturizer with SPF
> Jurlique Sun Lotion SPF 20

I am in love with Eucerin Face SPF 25, myself.

> 37. Nighttime Moisturizer
> Creme de la Mer

Z.Bigatti would be my pick!

> 47. Blotting Papers
> Mac Blot Film

I love the Clean & Clear ones.

> 50. Powder Eyeliner
> Trish McEvoy Definer *Three-time winner*

Why have I never heard of this? I will definitely seek it out!

> 59. Makeup Remover
> Lancome Bi-Facil *Three-time winner*

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil gets my vote.

> 61. Eyelash Curler
> Shu Uemura *Hall of Fame*

Yes! But tied with LashPro!

> 63.Long-Wearing Lipstick
> Max Factor Lipfinity

I prefer Outlast to Lipfinity.

> 68. Lip Balm
> Kiehl's Lip Balm No. 1 *Hall of Fame*

I must have two dozen different brands of lip balm, including the above, and my
favorite is still Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer.

> 109. Top Coat
> Seche Vite *Hall of Fame*

Totally agree!

> 111. Base Coat
> Essie Protein

I like Creative Nail Design Stickey, but then I'm not trying to grow my nails
long or anything.

> 113. Cuticle Treatment
> Creative Nail Design AHA Cuticle Eraser

Ooh! I have never seen this; will definitely look for it!

> 115. Overall Body Lotion
> Kiehl's Creme de Corps *Three-time winner*

Love this!

> 118. Hand Cream
> L'Occitane *Two-time winner*

I love the Pre de Provence shea butter hand cream, Herbacin, and Neutrogena
Norwegian formula in that order.

> 119. Foot Cream
> The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion *Two-time winner*

I'd pick Philosphy's Sole Owner.

> 121. Body Oil
> Neutrogena *Four-time winner*

I've never cared for the smell of the Neutrogena. I'd either use Johnson's Baby
Oil, or my new favorite, Mad Gab's Liquid Lube.

> 125. Deodorant
> Tom's of Maine Natural Deodorant *Two-time winner*

My fave is Dove Invisible Solid.

> 128. Razor
> Gilette Mach 3 *Three-time winner*

Love this!

> Banana Boat

Nah - Ocean Potion Baby!

> 10 New Best Bets:

I have this and still don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do with it! Right
now I use it to soothe my eyebrows after plucking.

I'm stunned that anything from that place is included. I'd try it out
if I could trust myself to blink and not have them pull it off the
shelves for some lame reason.

I need a good skin cream that doesn't smell so... skin-creamy.

Excellent mascara - but it makes my eye lashes fall out and stop

Strangely enough, I'm using Lorac mascara in Aubergine and I really,
really like it!

it inexpensive

L'Oreal Airwear Powder Foundation -- not absorbed into skin, doesn't

foundations to make the right color -- specifically dark brown, yellow

Audrey:

The two that stand out for me are Tarte gel blush stick and Deluxe Beauty
Tinted Lipgloss. I have the Tarte Flush and the Deluxe lipgloss in Dot and
love them both. You may want to try Tarte Tickled Peach blush with your
coloring. IIRC Deluxe has a couple of warmer toned lipglosses in their lineup
too.

I'll join.

Powder Foundation
Bare Ecentuals, hands down. I have normal skin that breaks out and this
doesn't aggrevate my acne or make my dry patches look worse. it covers and
blends beautifully and is a great concealor. I love being able to mix
colours depending on the season.

Undereye Concealer
Revlon Skinlights in that yellow undertone colour. It really does work.

Shimmer Powder
I really like the benefit Kitten powder. Although it's more for the body.

Powder Blush
Nars Orgasm

Gel Blush
Tarte in Flush

Stain Blush
Loracs is brilliant!

Overall Makeup Brush Line

Facial Scrub
Sage Cleansing Grains

Facial Moisturizer for Dry Skin

Wrinkle Cream
Osmotics Kinetin, really does work without harsh side effects.

Eye Cream
La Mer Eye Balm. I so did not want this to work but it does. I have
sensitive eyes and dry dry skin, and this really works. I really like Murad
Complex with SPF 8 for results, but it irritated my sensitive eyes too much.

Pimple Healer
Sage Miracle Zit

I'd love to say La Mer but I can't. It

I can't tell you how many times I had to go into the bathroom to check the
names of products, some of which I have been using for years. I guess I'm
on auto-pilot with them and haven't looked carefully at the label since
the first time I bought them.

I'm also pleased at the number of products I _don't_ use. I'm feeling
practically Amish--or would, until I catch sight of my eyeshadow/lip gloss
collection.

Thanks everyeone. Right now my short list includes the Tarte tickled
peach blush, a Paula Dorf eyeliner brush, a new Shu brush plus the PTR
product Lelie posted earlier as her favorite beauty product. I'm also

I'm not a teenage girl but the two MAC foundations I tried (Studio Fix and the
regular liquid one) broke me out terribly. It was a shame because they were
the best color match I ever had.

How is this for combination, break-out prone skin?

I totally agree about the Neutrogena being the best mass-market SPF products.

Thanks for the list! I'm puzzled about them choosing Chanel as best
eyeliner pencil (I think that's what I read) as I'd always heard that most
pencils are made in the same factory in Germany. Anyone confirm?
