I spent the past five days at the Phoenician in Scottsdale, one of my
favorite places in the United States. It is a beautiful resort with an
absolutely fantastic spa. On Monday I went shopping at the Fashion
Square Mall with Carol Corb, one of my favorite shopping companions. We
had lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe and then hit the shoes. She bought a
great pair of navy mules. I have my new spring shoes so I went to the
second floor and walked quickly from department to department. I chose
three items to try on and ended up buying two of them. One is a Sigrid
Olson black two tier skirt. The top tier is nylon and it has beautiful
embroidered flowers on it. This straight skirt is knee length on me and
looked great with an off the shoulder Dana Buchman black knit top I
brought for the trip. I also purchased a white knit Classiques Entier
top with keyhole neckline and three quarter sleeves. I bought new
lingerie and a wonderful salesperson measured me assuring me that I was
purchasing the correct size. In Brass Plum I bought my daughters Frenchi
eyelet tops, salmon for one and turquoise for the other. After we looked
at all of the handbags etc. Carol went back to sportswear and I walked
to Neiman Marcus. On my way there I bought my son a black tee that has
palm trees and Diesel Lost Resort on the pocket, tried the new
L'Occitane line and purchased a new wine pourer at a kitchen shop. At
NM I bought DH a beautiful red Zegna tie. The silk used in these ties
is just gorgeous and the color changes ever so slightly with the light.
The tie has a floral pattern and it is a new spring release. I rushed
through the various clothing departments and ended up in fragrance
receiving samples of the new Thierry Mugler fragrance. The SA told me
Nordstrom had a smaller size but I am sort of maxed out with fragrances
at the moment. I never seem to finish any of them.
On Tuesday my husband and I had lunch at Frankie's Cafe at the Borgata
and looked at all of the shops. I bought a hand painted glass ornament
at an art gallery. I needed to spend more time there.
I love to wander throught the shops at the Phoenician. The bath and
body shop has many unique lines. For the older daughter I purchased
water soap made by Awakening Chi. Every product is related to your feng
shui and hers is water. For her sister I bought a Jaqua On the Go mini
hand treatment kit she can keep at her work desk. It has tiny cherry
hand scrub, citrus hand gel and mango hand lotion. I treated myself to
a California Dreaming, a bath ice cream bomb from a company called Me.
It has citrus, lemon and orange as well as marigold petals and is
supposed to smell like Los Angles at 5 a.m. :) I also bought a tiny
Japanese peony candle by red flower, www.redflower.com

Shopping with Carol is always delightful. On Monday she wore a white
top with black slacks and a red shirt jacket that picked up the black
and white. Also she was wearing beautiful black and silver jewelry.
Her handbag and shoes were red, a totally put together look!

I will post separately about the resort, spa and dining.

Next time you return to Scottsdale we can dine at The Borgata for lunch..I
love Frankie's Patio Cafe. There are several other nice restaurants there
also. Good shopping ...I always find something to buy at that outdoor Plaza,
of course, with Chicos there that is always a hit for me. On Friday
afternoons (before the intense heat hits us) they have a Farmers Market and a
Jazz combo.
Sounds like you enjoyed your trip and spa visit.
I wish the time hadn't flown by so fast but we did manage to get some good
items to add to our wardrobe! Loved the Sigrid skirt!!
