Just got the new CCB-Paris catalog (which has a $10 coupon in it, which is
great) and Agnes. B. has a new foundation called Aqua Compact. It's a .37
oz. jar that comes in 5 colors (luminous beige through cinnamon, a cafe au
lait color). It costs $22.50 but you can get a refill for $15. It sounds
like this is the Agnes B. version of Water Canvas et. al. Has anyone tried
this yet? Also, has anyone used the Agnes B. loose powder?

Thanks,

India

am I the only one annoyed that CCB-Paris' foundations do not come in
FAIR colors? the lightest color is Luminous Beige, and would not even be
close to a color match for me. which is too bad, because I'd really like
to try some of their foundations.

This is indeed similar to Water Canvas, a light-textured foundation
with minimal coverage, very even application and a cool feel. Not
moisturising, and most suited to normal to oily skins. It's actually
not new (been out for around a year), but they've introduced new
colours, so I imagine it's selling well. The difference between the
full product and the refill is simply a little silver fabric zip case.

BTW - the foundation colour representations are not remotely accurate.
Most shades are much lighter and more neutral than the chart suggests.

I don't like the loose powder - coarse-textured, highly pigmented and
hard to apply evenly.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. I may give this product a try
since I have the coupon, but I'll skip the powder.

Hey the catalog must have more stuff than the store. I love Agnes B. and
I go to the Agnes B. boutique a lot but I've never seen the water
foundation, just the stick and powder foundations.

I love love love water-based foundations. In Feb. Mademoiselle there's a
picture of the new one from Lancome. It's called Touch Liberte and it
comes with a little sponge applicator that you dip into the bottle. Sort
of like a variation of the Stila Pivotal Skin.

from what I can see, this isn't really a foundation, exactly, but more
of a colored highlighter.
still looks neat though.

The Agnes B. or the Lancome is a highlighter? At the Lancome counter, I was
told that the Touche Liberte is called "Portable Refreshing Foundation" and
will have a slight shimmer, like MAC Hyper Real. Supposed to have medium
coverage, though, like a normal foundation. I hope so. A highlighter is much
less exciting to me.

Here in the UK there's a shade called Moonlit Beige - I have very fair skin
and this is ideal.

The Aqua Compact is great - it just glides on...don't be too heavy handed
though or you'll look blotchy (trust me, I did this!!) The formula was
great - I have sensitive skin which errupts with spots and pimples given any
chance, but this didn't affect my skin badly at all...

...definitely worth a try.
