How about taupe? Or powder blue? These seem to me to be safe choices for
spring. My baby blue Jack Purcells go with almost everything spring-y!

I think light beige or khaki color shoes work well with white and pastel
clothing. White shoes are in, but personally, I don't care for white because
they usually look too stark and nurse-like.

Khaki colored, pastel colored (pink, blue, etc), fabric shoes in a
natural linen color, metallic shoes in gold, silver or pewter.

I like to wear metallic gold shoes with my pastel dresses. For a more casual
look I wear a little pair of Payless gold thong style sandals. For a more
dressy look, I wear a pair of gold leather Bruno Magli flats.

Charles,

Here I was, foolishly hoping you would comment on the Jack Purcells! ;-)

I'm going to be wearing silver shoes with pastels this spring. (They are
a cross betwen ballet flats and mary janes, and have a slight pearly
sheen, rather than a metallic shine.) Beige or medium brown can be nice,
too.

at macy's herald square they have some gorgeous cream/bone colored
sandals/shoes, as well as pale pink that would look great with pastels or
white clothes. last week i walked by the stephanie kelian store in soho
and the window display was white shoes. some of them really looked good
and rekindled an interest in me for a nice pair of white shoes...nice,
open-toe, high heeled sandals.
