I just got my first WC, and am wondering a few things.
1. How to apply? Today I used a foam sponge. Seemed OK, but if there is a
better way, I want to know. I don't want to waste a precious molecule of the
stuff.
2. What are the benefits, if any, of the base? I didn't order it, but love the
feeling of the WC so much, I'm nearly ready to buy anything he makes. My skin
is combination- T zone oily.
3. It says it has a sunscreen, but how much? What SPF? It seems too sheer to
be of much effect.
TIA

first piece of advice i can give is to make sure you completely close the
lid...you may even wnat to get the little kit with the mirror to make sure you
get an air tight seal on it..take it from someone who watched hers evaporate
during a texas summer.

secondly, the sponge that comes with it is great. i usually start in the middle
of the foundation. some people use the primer, i actually prefer using the
primer with other foundations.

start off applying just where you need the foundation. it blends quite nice.

I too have a question about this. When I looked at it, it seems so small!!
How long does it last if you used it everyday?? I use foundation everyday, and
I don't want to pay 40 bucks every month for it..... tia!

I was just thinking about this in general....I bought the Lancome Stick
Express around January 11. I have enough left for about 1-2 more days.
I am horrified that I paid $32 for a foundation that lasted about 3
weeks!! Too bad, because I really like the stuff! Most liquids (LM,
Stila, BB) have lasted me 3 months. How long does your foundation last?

out of all the gel/cream to powders that i have tried, the chantecaille lasted
the shortest, the trish the longest and the longo right in the
middle....chantecaille lasted 3 weeks, longo 6 weeks and i have only finished
one trish.

Does the color Warm Beige work for anybody out there. It is
way too dark for me. If you can wear this color let me
know.

I use liquid foundation (I currently use Laura Mercier). I use a Shiseido
sponge to apply it, and a bottle usually lasts about 8 months. In the past,
when I used my fingers (and used Chanel or Px), a bottle would last 12 to 18
months.

This is just the greatest sponge. Make a real difference in makeup application.

I've had my little jar of BB Fresh Glow for almost 7 months now. It's a gel
based oil free foundation that gives full coverage-and I don't need alot of
it-it speads well.

But-when I'm out and about......I either wear makeup or don't wear makeup. So
say I've had this foundation for 6 months because I figure there's been at
least 30 days I went without. AND-I still have my little foundation jar and
there's enough for a bout 2 more months.

Would the Shiseido sponge do much for powder foundation application?
Currently I'm using Aveda Dual Base with a powder brush. I threw away
the sponge that came with it long ago because I didn't want to wash it
and it was looking pretty caked up. I figured I'd buy new ones, but I
just started using the powder brush (nothing fancy, just a Maybelline
long-handled blush brush, actually).

Today, while at Nordstrom's, I stopped to pick up a few more of the
small, square ones which I love. They were all sold out. Apparently, a
woman who was planning an extended world tour came in and bought *75* of
them!

Wow! I would love it if I ran out of foundation! I've had my Nars Balanced
foundation in Mont Blanc for over a year now. I couldn't use it during the
summer (too oily) but I too use foundation every day. I haven't been to the
bottom of a foundation bottle in a long time.

Generally speaking, you get more complete coverage with a powder foundation
when you use a sponge, whether the one it came with or a separate one.
Applying with a brush is more of a finishing coat than a complete application.
At least this has been my experience with Awake and StudioFix. My daughter
applies StudioFix with a brush over her liquid foundation to give just a bit
more coverage.

My Aveda application has been much more smooth since I used the Shiseido sponge (the
oval, flocked one).

Thanks for the input, Ladies. I will have to check out the Shiseido sponges in
person some time soon. :)

Great question. I rotate foundations depending on what my skin is feeling
and looking like. I have finished 1 Trish CTP and am working well on the
other one. I think another 3 weeks when I am finished...so about 6 weeks
for that. I still have my Stila Complete Coverage from my original purchase
over a year ago and the Stila Liquid about 1 year. My Bourjois is still
going strong. All foundations still smell the same, the contents have not
separated, and the colors are still good, so I will keep using them till I
run dry.
