Stephe's T* Home http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/Heights/8187
I think that pastels are in again, at least that's the drift I get.
Thanks to the support and encouragement from the people on the afc and asc
ngs, I am no longer afraid to shop for femme clothing. (And my wife will be
happy about the fact that I will never borrow her clothes again!)
I started a few months ago, buying some lingerie at a WalMart in the middle
of the night while on an overnight stay far away from home, and now, just
yesterday, I had the confidence to go shopping during lunch hour at Penney's
a couple blocks from work! (and being a big girl in more ways than one, I
shopped in the women's department, where the bigger sizes are) I came away
with a lovely two piece coral outfit with a long print skirt. (And it fits, I
tried it on (at home) and it is very pretty, although I still don't have the
nerve to ask to use a dressing room at the store, _yet_!) On sale, too!
(What girl doesn't like a good sale!)
When I finally put together a web site (possibly by the next millenium), I'd
just love to put up a picture, but by then it'll be out of style!
Stephe, you know how much good these ngs are to the lurkers and posters.
Just knowing that we are not alone, and that others can and do shop in
stores, is a real confidence builder.
Hugs to you!

Yup, pastels are in and Taffy is hap-peeee! I just can't stand the
depressingness of black and dark colors -- like going to a funeral. I
am alive! And I want color. I got a pastel plaid shortall from Target
yesterday which is alive and soft with color. Should go well with the
multi-color pastel ruffled white anklets I got a month or so ago at
K-Mart.

and zat is why we are here... support and encouragement (and to share
a few fashion tips as well).

Were that I was anywhere near close to her size (she 5', 120 lbs; me
5'10, 200 lbs). If I were her size right now, I would open my JC Penney
or Storybook Heirlooms catalog and go right to the cutest Spring dresses
with all their lace and finery, get me a new petti and a few outfits for
camp...

Amen...

Lots of sites to sample... I do not think that there will ever be a
picture of me on my site, though... The picture in my mind's eye is so
very different from what the coldness of a camera lens sees.

It is good, Stephe, that you did not go away for good. We need all of us
here to make this a fun place to be.
Hugs, Taffy...

Girl's classic fashions of the 50's and 60's:

"Everyday is a great day for little girls to dress-up..."
I saw in the New York Times today that cashmere is in, this should sort
the fashion sheep from the goats.
Also I suspect that bare shoulders and long flowing skirts in pastels or
small flower prints will be in, but it's still a little too cold up here
in New England to tell what people will really be wearing.
Love and hugs, Jenny
The catalogs I've looked at also seem to have a lot of sweaters in them. Not
the heavy warm kind you wear in winter, but the lighter cotton ones you can get
by wearing most of spring, part of summer, and part of fall.
BTW, has anyone noticed that shoes seem to be getting chunkier? I've been
seeing more platforms in the catalogs. I don't have anything against them, but
platforms sure are hard to walk in.

I was going to say that I thought they would get less chunky. Chunky was
in last year, now I'm beginning to see a 2 1/2 inch tall heel that is
about 1 inch square that looks great with the boot cut jeans.
