I am a fanatic for European History, Myths & Fantasy. But I gotta say the
Conan Tv series is the worst thing I have ever seen. I grew up reading conan
magazines, and when the movies came out, I think that "Arnold" was the
perfect person to play the part. I just wish he could have done more than
just 2 movies. This guy that got playing Conan on the TV series is a joke,
so is the whole plot. Come on fans, give me your own opinions,

There is a brand new J. Allen St. John site on the web, by A.I.
Graphics, which is offering for sale over a dozen great color paintings
reproduced on canvas with brush strokes. It is all Burroughs art by J.
Allen St. John. It is amazing!
Check it out. The URL is:

http://artmasterworks.com/erb/

These St. John paintings on canvas are very close to the originals, and
quite wonderful. The artist has reconstructed several canvases the
originals of which have been lost for decades. They are fabulous.

If you like the black-and-white art, there are several of these for sale
as well. The company is planning on offer another dozen or two canvas
reproductions in the future.

If you come to the Dum-Dum in Tarzana, June 10-12, you'll see four or
five of these on display.
If you don't come to the Tarzana Dum-Dum, you can see them on the
internet.

i have great affection for the character of Conan but could barely get
through the pilot for the syndicated series. it seemed poisoned by
"Hercules"-style silliness. i had heard that a new creative team was
taking over for a revamped 2nd season, however...so my fingers are
crossed....

PUH-Leeze!

HERCULES: THE LEGENDARY JOURNEYS is a very well-done and enjoyable show. The
CONAN THE BARBARIAN series wasn't even watchable. Is it still being broadcast?

My opinion is that the Conan series is not worth having an opinion about.
Their mistake was in building on the movies instead of going back to Robert E.
Howard.

Personally, I did not think Arnold was a good casting choice at all. I always
pictured Conan as more wiry -- not quite as wiry as Barry Smith drew him,
though. I figured Conan's muscles would have been built up naturally through
the course of routine (for a barbarian) activity -- sort of like a gymnast's.
Arnold's physique is completely unnatural
