Not just Space's The Conspiracy Guy, Rick has appeared in films,
television, commercials, music videos, live comedy and theatre
productions. He enjoyed several years with Second City as a
principal player and both produced and performed in the acclaimed
"Rick's Improv Cafe" at Toronto's Laugh Resort for five years. For
the past six years, Rick has produced "Yo Adrian!" a sold-out
variety show blending music and comedy, benefiting Barrett House,
a Toronto AIDS/HIV residential facility.

Rick has agree to host the Sunday Charity Auction and will be
signing autographs later that day. He won't be charging for
autographs but will have a donation jar for one of the charities
he supports: Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation Fighting Blindness
Ride for Sight

WAVECON 2001: First Wave MiniCon (* NEW *)

Celebrating the hit series First Wave is the topic of this year's
mini-convention. The mini-con is free with your Toronto Trek

North America. Themes range from science fiction and fantasy to
representations of your favourite media characters. If you see
something you like, Saturday night offers you a chance to bid on
it in our art show auction.

The web page lists all the great items up for bid in this year's
Charity Auction to be hosted by Rick "The Conspiracy Guy"
Wharton. There are some really cool items this year, including
items from the Star Trek art department.

floor. The Toronto Trek 15 Saturday Night Dance is brought to you

and let us know what you want to hear: teen-groups or goth send
us your song suggestions. There's so much music out there that
we can't possibly have everything you're going to request - but
we are going to give it our best try. We need YOU to let us know
BEFORE THE DANCE what you'd like to hear, so we can do our best
to have it there.


DEALERS ROOM: Our dealers room is back and this year and we will have
a lot of new (including psychics) and interesting stuff as well as
the usual wide array of exceptional offerings. We will be adding a
Dealer's web page to our site shortly, so be sure to check it out!
If there is something in particular you are looking for, let us know
and we will pass it along to the dealers.

Attention Dealers: contact us if you haven't yet received your
dealer's contract.

Yes, our 2 hours dealers/visitors pass will be available again
this year.


FAMILY PASS: Our Sunday Family pass, which allows up to 2 adults
and 4 children to attend Toronto Trek, on Sunday, for just $75.


FAN CLUBS: Fan clubs can advertise their clubs to the attendees of
Toronto Trek by signing up for Fan Dealer tables. The tables are free,
but there is a $50 (Cdn) administration fee. This includes one
membership to the convention. If you wish to purchase a fan club table
please send your name, your club name, your mailing address, phone
number and e-mail address to "Toronto Trek Attn: Dealers" either to
our P.O.Box or to our e-mail address (tc...@icomm.ca).

We also offer special rates for advertising in our progress report
and program booklet. Pre-register 5 or more (must come in one
envelope) and we will give you a free 40 word classified in the
Toronto Trek Program Booklet.


FAN FICTION: In order to help promote the ever-popular part of fandom
known as fan fiction, Toronto Trek is offering a limited number of
free tables to fanzine editors or publishers wishing to come to
Toronto Trek to sell their fanzine. Please note that while the
table is free, there will be a small administration fee of $20 (Cdn)
per table to cover the mail out, photocopying, our cost of the
rental of the table and the myriad of other administration charges
we will incur by offering these tables. For further information
contact Toronto Trek and include your mailing address, phone number
and e-mail address to "Toronto Trek, Attn: Dealers" to either our
P.O.Box or to our e-mail address (tc...@icomm.ca).


GIFT OF SIGHT: (* NEW *)

KAG/KANADA Want Your Old Eye Glasses!

Once again KAG/KANADA is supporting Lenscrafter's Gift of Sight.
This is a charitable program that collects and distributes used eye
glasses FREE OF CHARGE to people in third world countries who
desperately need them. Please bring your used eye glasses to the
KAG/KANADA table in the main hall anytime during the convention.

always cancel the room closer to the convention IF you cannot
attend.

LOST: At last years Toronto Trek, Chil's Kahles Bat'leth. if you have
any information please e-mail us.


MODEL BUILDERS: This year, there will be a hands-on panel for beginning
and novice modelers! Although some parts and supplies will be supplied
for experimentation, please bring your own models and supplies (i.e.,
model cement, sandpaper, exacto knives, etc.). The panel will be 1-4
hours of hands-on fun!


MODEL DISPLAY: Calling all model builders! We want to see your models,
miniatures, origami and dioramas at TT. The registration fee to enter
is $1 and you must be an attendee of the convention. Categories
include Kit-Built Models and Modified Model Kits, and will include
different skill levels.


POKEMON TOURNAMENT: It's Back! We will be holding our second DCI
sanctioned Tournament on Sunday, July 22. In addition to all our
great gaming events at TT. Please indicate you would like to take
part on the registration form.

PROGRAM BOOKLET: The deadline to advertise in this year's Program
Booklet is quickly coming (May 15, 2001). This years booklet will
be 8.5 x 11" and rates are as follows:

SATURDAY EVENING DINNER: (* NEW *)
The dinner is a chance to have a good sit-down meal, talk and relax
with your friends, all before the masquerade. Plus the guests join
us so you never know who might be sitting at your table. The dinner
will start with a mushroom soup and California salad, the entree
choices are half chicken, roast beef or a vegetarian dish to be
followed by a dessert.


U.F.O.: CATCH ONE ON VIDEO! Use your ingenuity and imagination to catch
a "U.F.O." on video and you could win! Videos must be between 2 and 4
minutes long and on standard VHS. To enter, videos must be dropped off
at the Con Office during the convention before 4pm Sat., July 21, and
can be picked up in the Video Room immediately after Closing Ceremonies.
Videos must be cued and clearly labeled with your name. We are not
responsible for loss, damage or video cassettes not picked up!


VIDEO ROOMS: Our regular and Anime video rooms will be back this year.

WRITERS WORKSHOP: Hosted by James Alan Gardner, Grand Prize winner of
the "Writer's of the Future" contest and author of "Expendable,"
"Commitment Hour," "Vigilant" and "Hunted". This Sunday session has
a pre-registration fee and your pre-registration SHOULD INCLUDE either
a short story or the first chapter of a work in progress. Attendance
is limited to 12 people so be sure to pre-register early.

Remember to bring enough copies, of your work, to the session for the
other attendees.
