It did play in Baltimore, at the Landmark Theatre. I saw it about a month
ago. The film itself is a big step up from "Scoop". I didn't care for it
quite as much as "Match Point", which I thought was really excellent, but
"Cassandra's Dream" is definitely up there with his best work in recent
years, and featured some really strong performances.
Allen's low-key style was very well-suited to the material, and he wisely
kept the film's color very muted, emphasizing the dour and dreary nature of
the story.
The standout performance is definitely Colin Farrell, but Ewan MacGregor was
superb as well. Hayley Atwell was good as the actress girlfriend of
MacGregor, but I did feel that her character could have been fleshed out a
bit more. In fact, that was the overall problem I had with the film-I didn't
care enough about the characters and needed more of a reason to believe
their motivations. That said, it's still a very strong film, and if you get
the chance to see it with an audience, it's well worth it.

Well, taste is subjective. I liked Scoop better than anything since BOB.
Didn't care for Match Point at all. I was bored, sorry. I'm looking forward
to CD. Thanks for the response. It's still so lonely being a WA fan. Wanna
get married?
