Because it is the minority which most strongly challenges the idiocies
of the still theist foolish majority.

if atheists and agnostics stopped challenging the evils and
foolishnesses of established religions, the establlished religions would
not spend so much of their time and effort fomenting hatred against that
minority of agnostics and atheists.
