Just wondered if anyone sees the HTDAAB songs in particular colours?
Mine...
Vertigo - sort of red, I think?
Miracle Drug - kind of a dusky pink/purple
Sometimes - silver (with blueish hints)
Love & Peace Or Else - black with purple bits
City of Blinding Lights - definitely *golden*
All Because Of You - mostly white, with black outlines
A Man And A Woman - kind of rusty brown?
Crumbs From Your Table - not sure, possibly a pale greenish colour
One Step Closer - pale blue
Original of the Species - white with a yellow tinge
Yahweh - unsure, maybe orangey-yellow?
Fast Cars - orangey-brown?
I'd be interested to hear if others agree or see them differently.

I have a vision..... Eurovision!
Annie, I most often enjoy your posts, and you have good things to say. But, I
must say, I am left wondering what you might be smoking on this one.
Does this have something to do with the single cover being red?
My color for Vertigo is Black and white with browns....and I realize...its the
colors in the video.
Man and a Woman - is dark blue--- but the first time I was reading it I was
looking at a blue computer screen...exactly the color that I see....so maybe
what we perceive is based on a color memory during a listen of the song
unknowingly.

LOL, I wondered if anyone was gonna say that. Quite a lot of people
participated in the original thread, though, so I'm not the only person with a
strange mind... thanks for the compliment btw, nice of you to say that!

I don't know, I did wonder about that. It's hard to say whether I was
influenced by the artwork or not.

I think that is definitely true in some cases. I know that the colours I
imagine for various songs on Pop is based on the colour of the page the lyrics
appear on (DYFL is orange, Gone is green...). But a lot of the time there's no
obvious reason for the colour I see. Sometimes it's an image that the lyrics
evoke (desert imagery = sandy), sometimes it seems to reflect the mood of the
song (e.g. a sad song might feel blueish), but at other times it's quite
random! I have colours for numbers and days of the week and stuff too, and
I've no idea why those associations exist. It's all a bit weird, but
interesting.
