SRV a painter?

I donated some $$$ to a Children's Hospital near me. They sent me a
framed and matted picture that was pretty cool. It is about a 10" x
20" pastel of SRV playing and kind of swooshes forward to a similar
image of him and has an orange and black background that is supposed
to be a Texas landscape with dark clouds (must be flood weather) and a
little tornado. It is autographed by him "All the life is song...".
The hospital said SRV liked to paint and it is a self portrait. It
also has a page from a yellow legal pad where he drew some fret boards
and showed the fingerings for "Lenny", along with some notes about the
chords.

Based on other autographs I've seen, the autograph is authentic and
the writing on the legal pad paper looks like what is on the print.
My question: Does anyone know if he painted, and if so how to find out
the history of the print. It doesn't appear on any of the sites that
show SRV paintings.
