Star Trek is pretty good, IMO, though I prefer Babylon 5, myself. Why?
Because they have such cheap 3D scenes. I don't really know why I like
that. It's what I'm aiming for in computer game programming. Maybe that's
it...

Whoa, I think you need to turn that around the other way and Warp factor
5 in the other direction: There is an equal dislike in the industry of CGI animators
by Companies (Such as Sony) who can only come up with "less than realistic
animations". Babylon 5 is the worst space sitcom on television.

5 Reasons stick out:

- The show's plot is stupid, lame has no air or realism.

- The way everything is set up it's hardly believeable.

- The Alien's have a lack of stand-out individuality. As is
their looks.

Star Trek (The Next Generation) is one of the greatest sitcom's
I've ever watched, the second is (The) Wonder Years.

Hehe.. I have a better argument than that-- really! :)

That (lack o' realism) is probably one of the reasons I like it. I mean, how
much realism is there in the Sonic games? For example, in Sonic 2, Sonic
rides on the side of Robotnik's ship clear into outer space-- outside the
hull. Even if it weren't QUITE in outer space, where it was as high enough as
it was to turn the surrounding sky black, the air would have been too thin to
give Sonic a chance to find the door and climb inside in time. That and it's
gotta be REAL cold up there.

Have you ever watched the way their space fighters fly? Watch closely. You'll
see that the rockets actually fire at the proper times to coordinate turns,
etc. I agree that it doesn't seem believable much of the time, but at least
they took the time to coordinate their rockets.

Um, they do? Take a look at the two major races: Their names escape me, but
one race has the general stand-out look of a reptile, where the other one
has round heads and hair shaped like half of a blunt radial saw blade. Seems
pretty individual to me, if a little stupid...

Nah, I've seen only slightly less quality run quite well in games. Babylon 5
style 3D graphics is my eventual dream (and by the time I learn how to do it,
computers will be able to handle it, and other programmers will have
probably come out with better). What I'm shooting for now is more along the
lines of Descent or Quake.

Yeah, but they all act like humans!
