Sounds like something that was lifted out of context. I'd have to
see a transcript of the whole interview.
The article, written on September 12 of last year, also makes
considerable mention of the war's needing to happen "before the
November elections", which of course didn't even come close to
happening.
This is not really all that surprising coming from such a "Journal".
A trip to the site's homepage reveals "unbiased" articles with such
titles as "Allies' propaganda distorting the truth", "From Guernica
to Baghdad via Dresden and Hiroshima", "Lies and other market
forces", "Are American elections fixed?", "Daniel Patrick Murderer",
"Counting Iraq's dead civilians", "9/11 was a hoax: The American
government killed its own people"... and the beat goes on.
Even their advertisements... "Liberal/Progressive Sites Are Welcome
On Our Secure & Reliable Server".

Something also happened this week but has not been reported. Surprised?
Conan O'Brian mentioned it on his program Wednesday and Bill Maher made

I'm just sick n' tired of the whole damn thing. I'm glad for the
soldiers, though, that they've had such a clear upper hand with their
training, their technology, and their numbers.
It's their boss I have the problem with though - and the folks in my
church who side with him and go along with the Iraq initiative. And
to hump Sept.11 shamelessly to gain support for the thing? Come on.
They need to seriously evaluate their "Christianity" I think. It says
nowhere in any Bible I've read to go and "make war".
I'm just praying for the troops' swift action and return to America.

One of the weaknesses of the Constitution is that while it insulates
religion from government, it does not provide commensurate protections
for government. Organized religions have used this advantage to promote
their agenda in the halls of Congress, the White House, and the Supreme
Court using funds which are tax exempt and for which they need not account.
During the recent pedophile scandals in the Catholic Church, various
high priests of that church had the arrogant temerity to suggest that
the matter was strictly for the Church to handle internally, raising the
spectre of Medieval ecclesiastical courts separate from and
superior to the judicial processes of government.
We would all be better off if priests of all religions would spend more
time attending to the spiritual needs of their flocks and less to politics.
