Capitol Chaos: Senate Moves To Bring 'Wisconsin 14' Back, Possibly By Force
By Jay Sorgi with the Associated Press
Story Created: Mar 3, 2011

(Story Updated: Mar 3, 2011 )

MADISON - The Wisconsin State Senate has approved a resolution that would
set a deadline of 4:00 p.m. Thursday for Wisconsin's 14 Democratic state
senators to return to Senate chambers.

If they do not, they would be held guilty in contempt of the Senate.

They would also be guilty of disorderly conduct.

TODAY"S TMJ4's Mick Trevey says law enforcement could go out with a warrant
and detain them, possibly with the use of force.

According to Trevey, senators could be picked up, held against their will,
chained and brought back to Senate chambers to vote on Governor Scott
Walker's budget repair bill.

But according to one Democratic senator, Middleton's Jon Erpenbach, he's not
coming back despite the resolution, and he doesn't believe his colleagues
would, either.

"We hand them over ideas, and they come back us with handcuffs," said
Erpenbach to Newsradio 620 WTMJ.

"It's abysmal. It's a desparate attempt...to scare us back to Wisconsin,
and it simply won't work," said his colleague, Milwaukee Democratic Senator
on TODAY'S TMJ4's "Live at Noon."

His colleague, Milwaukee Democratic Senator Chris Larson tweeted, "Senate
Republicans have officially gone 'round the bend. Next up, dropping puppies
from the top of the Capitol onto protesters."

According to the resolution, law enforcement could work with other legal
methods to use force to get a Senator back to Wisconsin. As of early
Thursday afternoon, there was no authorization for law enforcement to go to
other states.

Only one senator is necessary in order to bring the Senate to a quorum for a
vote, which would probably pass against Democrats' wishes.

There was some belief that at least one of the Democratic state senators was
returning inside the state on some sort of basis.

Trevey said that here was hope among Republicans that Democrats would
voluntarily return to the state, which was why this method was not
previously used.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says the action is
legally different from an arrest, but "definitely a shift from asking them
politely."

This is all political theatre, you dimwit. Wisconsin's legal
jurisdiction ends at the state border. If they cross and attempt to
arrest someone for a non-criminal offense, they'll be guilty of
kidnapping. Scratch a rightard, you find an authoritarian. You people
would have loved living under Joe Stalin, wouldn't you? I know you
have dreams of the Third Reich and would love to goose-step through
the village, beat up political dissidents, and gas minorities.

Too bad the GOP didn't flee DC when Nasty Piglosi and her rats rammed
through Obamacare last year. Imagine all those Democrats standing up ,
cheering & defending the GOP fleeing DC to stop the radical Piglosi
Obamacare agenda that could not have been passed if the gOP was not in
Congress.

You mean the rehashed Republican proposal from 1993 (with a few
additions from Mitt Romney's Massachusets plan)? Well, anyway, it
wouldn't have mattered if the Republicans in the House did leave:

"How_many_people_make_up_a_quorum_in_the_house_of_representatives"
"The quorum is 218. This is the minimum amount of people needed to
conduct business. This makes sense because there are 435 total members
in the house of representatives and 217.5 is exactly half.

You are right. Voters decided last NOV what they thought of the Rats that
voted for it in the middle of the night.
Last I looked, 70 RAts were exterminated in the US Congress, and 680 RATS
were exterminated in Statewide Offices.
Thanks Nasty Piglosi for ignoring the voters ! You Go Bitch !

Only if your definition of "Worse for Democrats" involves your fascist

Yes, those fourteen pussies who ran away are likely to be recalled,
though that's unnecessary since come 2012, I doubt there'll be any
Democrats left in the state :)

Won't happen, kooker. They are considered to be heroes. Walker, on the
