woodrow wilson...1919
"the congress might well consider whether the higher rates of income
and profits taxes can in peace times be effectively productive of
revenue, and whether they may not, on the contrary, be destructive of
business activity and productive of waste and inefficiency. there is a
point at which in peace times high rates of income and profits taxes
discourage energy, remove the incentive to new enterprise, encourage
extravagant expenditures, and produce industrial stagnation with
consequent unemployment and other attendant evils.

j.f. kennedy 1962
it is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax
revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise revenue in the long
run is to cut the rates now

keynes 1933
taxation may be so high as to defeat its object...given sufficient
time to gather the fruits, a reduction of taxation will run a better
chance, than an increase, of balancing the budget

Yebbut your bitch goddess and her goblins only thought that worked
with rich people. They had a policy of taxing the poor in order to
force everyone to understand how the government was financed. Taxing
the poor doesn't work as the latest TorLibdem government are at last
conceding by raising tax thresholds. Perhaps the next step will be to
concede that using taxation to drive moral change by taxing alcohol
and other things the major generals dissaprove of doesn't work either
in that it only serves to destroy businesses.

But the business of the state has to be paid for because whatever you
call it we live in a socialist state and the state monopolies like
defence and law enforcement have to be paid for somehow. So if the
rich want the protection of the law and the military then they will
have to shoulder the burden.

Any more lying you want to try today?

perhaps you can't distinguish between a politician and an
economist

any politician promoting it is a fool...the tory party has never
been without a smattering of fools...

but i will wait for you to produce real quotes before taking
your comments with more attentiveness

Economists have as much validity as oracles.
Gutting a chicken and reading the entrails would be about as
illuminating

Much more than a smattering and some of the smatter were in charge
