I hope I'm wrong. I hope Obama can turn the economy around. I hope we
can get the real unemployment rate down below 5%. I hope there hasn't
been a fundamental change in Americans where hard work and ingenuity
has been replaced by a handout mentality.
Hostess employees voting for unemployment isn't encouraging.

Actually, Hostess employees voted not to play the game anymore with management.
Their pension money was borrowed by the company. Their pay was cut by 8%. And
meanwhile, the CEO gave himself a 300% raise, and nine other execs got a more
than 60% raise, while the company was filing for bankruptcy. Would you have
stayed around to let the fat cats pick off your bones just to say you had a job?
I wouldn't. I'd get another. That is why the US is so great. One can leave a job
if they aren't happy. There is much less job changing in Europe for example.

Hostess corp. made way too many mistakes, including borrowing from their
employee pension funds to give the corporate cats big raises during a
bankruptcy.

Diminished market share isn't always attached to product price. There are way
more factors possible. That LD is able to offer a similar substitute at a way
less price though says that the management model of Hostess was a bad one. LD's
parent company uses their variables a lot more savvy than Hostess.

No, they just didn't pay attention to trends. If everyone else is selling a
similar product at a far cheaper price, either your product must have a damned
loyal market following or you are being naive. Most people who stuff a Twinkie
in their mouths wouldn't know the difference between that and a copy made
cheaper. It was a bad business model by Hostess. And they chose at the end to
try and pick the bones of their employees, who walked. Everyone lost.

They you haven't been listening. No great surprise there. Why were they losing
market share? Hint: I have outlined it at least ten times in various responses.
Go back and learn to read, then read my words. Your answers simply make you look
the fool.

Of course. Done through many methods. LD, for example uses more automation (less
employees) to produce essentially the same product. And yes, they also use
non-union employees. Hostess could have done both but chose not to. Blame the
unions? Hardly. Blame the management for being foolish with their money.

A smelly, greasy, bombed-out sanctuary for pedophiles, drug dealers on
the outskirts of Hicksville in the middle of fly-over country. You
call it "home" because you don't have to go far for hookers.

I fear hope is rapidly fading when the moonbats control most of the
"news" media and virtually all of the public maleducation system,
while considering deceit to be the tool of choice. America's primary
product these days is very stupid people waiting in line for Obamacare
to permanently stitch their lips to the government teat. The human
Obamapede, coming to an urban center near you.
Shed a tear for the Great Experiment, then go clean your guns for the
inevitable looting when it all collapses.

No, unions stupid and fuck themselves. Including the people that would not be a member if they had the choice, stoopid.

Furthermore, this not only affects the union workers, but the thousands employed in industries doing maintenance and providing supplies. But you'd have to have a brain to understand that the morals to care in the first place.
And you don't.
