Reid (with the support of Obama) is attaching yet another amnesty to
the pending military reauthorization bill in the Senate. This one is
mislabelled the DREAM amnesty - one that purports to "help students"
yet would allow millions of illegal aliens up to age 35 to become
citizens.

While it's never a good idea for an amnesty, it's particularly bad
during this period of high unemployment - the real unemployment rate
is easily in the double digits as those out of work for too long are
not counted. Every amnesty has encouraged yet more illegal
immigration, which drives down real wages and drains the social
support network (hospitals, schools, welfare, roads, etc).
Furthermore, the newly legalized will be eligible for more welfare
programs and thus cause already high taxes to go higher.

Since the vote on adding this amnesty is eminent (scheduled for
Tuesday), the best course is to call the Capitol switchboard (202)
224-3121 and ask for your Senators to tell them to oppose the "DREAM"
amnesty. Alternatively, you can also contact your Senator via
http://senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm .
