The Enigma Variations
|
| |
I like the reference to Elgar's "The Enigma Variations" on page 815 of
Against the Day. Bob Wilson told me he liked to watch old horror
films with the sound off with classical music playing, especially "The
Enigma Variations."
The reference to the fohn wind on page 815 makes me think of The Masks... more »

Guardian Camera Club: Andrew Smith on conceptual photography
Andrew Smith participates in the conceptual photography assignment.
Croydon promises to be the perfect setting for this visual exploration of Robert Anton Wilson's extraordinary ideas. 'Tunnel Reality 1' leads us from the daylight, and down into the dark; No. 2 shows underground reflections in a spherical mirror; No. 3 is a neon lit concrete wasteland. No. 4 has a vertiginous perspective, leading to a vanishing point of light; No. 5 shows our hero reflected in a metal eye, seemingly about to blink. Zizek says God is in pain
|
| |
It felt somewhat overwhelming to be in the same room with Slavoj Zizek
at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco and meeting him in
person last night. Despite the subject (Starbucks, belief system,
occupy movement, toilets) his intensity and passion dominate. For me,
it has been one of those festive altered state of mind experinces and... more »

When You Get To The Fork In The Road Take It...Yogi Berra
|
| |
Well I knew with all that talk about Yogis and spiritual mentorship,
Yogi Berra would slip into the fold some how. I have to admit it
sounds as if he's schooled in Groucho Marxism ,the real ontological
terrorists guide. I think that Pynchon does a wonderful job of
capturing the strange forlorn Asian terrain wind winding amid... more »
