RAW often mentioned this World Game Institute project. The details
haven't been online for a while (worldgame.org seems taken over by
osearth.com, and the UNESCO site which had the details disappeared),
but here's a new presentation of it (alas it's the WGI 1990s data, not
an update):

RAW: ... socially I think if anybody goes to the Buckminster Fuller
websites on line you'll find that solutions have already been worked
out by Fuller and his associates at the World Game. All it takes is
for the governments of the world to give up their attempts to conquer
one another by killing one another or by killing one another off and
realize - that's not working. I don't know how long it's gonna take,
but eventually - as Fuller said "humanity as a whole always does the
most intelligent thing after all the stupid alternatives that fail."
Once all the stupid alternatives fail they have no option left but to
try Buckminster Fuller's world game solution in which everybody gets
clean water, good food, good healthcare and most of the major forms of
exploitation are made non-economical by synergetic cooperation between
peoples and then we can have a kind if virtual utopia...
