Do you ever have that odd moment, when you suddenly catch a glimpse of
yourself in a mirror and it's not an ordinary, run-of-the-mill
glimpse, and you find yourself looking at that image in the mirror and
thinking, "Who IS that nosrep?"

Sounds like marking the territory, to me.

Don't you just hate it when you have a clumsy guest
who spills red wine on your beige carpet!?
I hope the wine spot on your carpet has a shape
of the face of your guest who spilled it;
