I once wrote a Harry Potter fan fic trying to get inside
the head of his horrible uncle and his strangely successful
industrial drill business. But I think I lost it.

That's why I brought it up here. He's a lousy boss
and incompetent, but the business does moderately well.
It's also named after someone else, so I inferred
that Vernon Dursley used to be junior partner to
somebody capable. I also proposed that it used to
be a local government service that got "privatized".

Google Groups apparently lost my first post about the
Cotswold drowning case, and then wouldn't let me read
this thread - mostly blank page. Apparently it's
feeling better now.
